Your Worth 1/3-Laurie and Val

LAURIE POV

Alex and I were about to go on a date and I was standing at the door hugging my mom as Alex pulled into the driveway.

"Laurie, I won't be here when you get back, so Val will call and check on you," my mom said because she was going back to New Jersey for work.

"Okay, mom. I love you," I said happily.

We said goodbye and Alex and I drove to a restaurant somewhere in LA.

After dinner Alex invited me to come to his house so we could watch a movie. I happily obliged knowing I didn't have to be home until 11.

When we got to his house it was very quiet. His parents must not have been home that evening. I slipped my shoes off at the door and we snuggled up together on his couch.

"Can we watch The Notebook," I asked.

"Sure thing babe," he said kissing me then getting up to put the movie in.

We watched the movie and I was about to get up to head home.

"Do you want to go to my bedroom?" He asked putting his hand around my waist.

I was slightly caught off guard by what he asked.

"Alex, you know how I feel about stuff like that,"

"Babe, I think we have to do this to make sure this is good," he said pointing in between us to gesture to our relationship.

"I-"

"Babe, lets go," he said picking me up and carrying me to his bedroom.

Over the next hour he did some things to me that I didn't want. I tried to tell him no but he said if we didn't he would break up with me.

I told him I had to get home by curfew and I went outside and called a cab.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I waited for the cab on the curb. Alex had just taken so many things away from me. My personal life was completely invaded by someone who didn't deserve my love.

When I got in the cab, the driver asked me where I needed to go. I was scared and I needed help so I told him Val's address.

A few minutes passed and I was at Val's door step. I knocked on the door and Val opened it.

"Hey Laurie, what are you doing here," he said letting me in.

"Val I am so scared," I said bursting into tears. He pulled me to a hug.

"Shh, what happened?" He asked.

"After Alex and I had dinner, he invited me to his house and I thought we were just going to watch a movie, but-" I started crying harder. I had already soaked Val's shirt as he rubbed my back.

"Did he make you do that-" he said. I didn't have to explain, Val knew exactly what Alex had done.

I nodded my head and continued crying.

"I am so sorry nugget," he exclaimed.

"I just wasn't ready Val. I feel like a whole part of me has been ripped out."

He let me cry for a while longer, but after a couple minutes my sobs subsided.

"Lets go get you some water," he said and I lifted my head. He took his thumbs and rubbed away the tears and mascara that had rubbed off. I have the absolute best big brother.

We walked to the kitchen and Val got me a glass of cold water. I drank it quickly and I felt much better. I was still shaking.

"Take some deep breaths," he said modeling how he wanted me to breathe. I started following his breathing and soon enough I was calm.

"Val do mind if I crash at you place, I don't feel comfortable being alone," I asked.

"No problem Laur,  you can sleep in the guest room," he said leading me to the guest bedroom.

He got me situated and told me that he would be here when I woke up.

"Good night nugget," he said kissing my forehead softly.

"Thank you so much Val," I said pulling him into a hug.

"Laurie, I want you to know that no matter what, I am always here for you and you are worth way more than a guy's approval. I love you so much and your whole family loves you so much and if Alex only loves you for the physical things then he doesn't deserve your love." Val told me before shutting off the light and closing my door.
