"Fallen Angel, close your eyes. I won't let you fall tonight."

-Fallen Angel, Three Days Grace

-Jeonghan's POV-

"Joshua. You are Joshua right?" I Ask, somewhat concerned.

"Yeah, that's Josh. You know, you don't seem like the creepy stalker type but how do you know his name?" The man next to Joshua sits down on the coffee table next To him.

This is the awkward part. They're going to want an explanation as to why I suddenly just appeared on Joshua's front doorstep. I'm going to have to tell them the truth... But where do I begin?

"First, yes I am Joshua, and second, this is Woozi, though his actual name is Jihoon. Yeah... I'd also like to know how you know my name... Oh! And I almost forgot to ask. What's your names?" Joshua asks, smiling warmly.

They can't know the full truth yet. Not all of it at least.

My head pounding, I sit up and figure out where to begin, "I'm Jeonghan...."

What now?

I continue softly, "Today...um... I fell."

"You fell?" Woozi questions.

"Yeah... I fell from heaven."

How do I even explain this!? This isn't a normal conversation between regular human beings. I mean, yes, I was human once...but I've been 'up there' for so long that I don't know what to say. Why should they believe me?

Joshua wears a look of confusion and disbelief whereas Woozi's face lights up with excitement. He looks over at Joshua, "Josh! This is what I was talking to you about today!! The object that fell from the sky."

"I'm not an object. I'm an angel." I say, slightly offended.

"This is a little hard to believe," Joshua folds his arms across his chest, "Let's say your story is true. How did you end up here? And why my house?"

"I remember falling... I must've blacked out because when I woke up, I was in a weird facility, my hands and feet strapped to a metal table. I think they were, what you call, government agents or scientists. I barely escaped. My energy was drained but I managed to slip into the spiritual realm and find your presence. I knew I would be safe here..."

"But how do you know me?"

"I've been sent to protect you, be your guardian angel, I suppose would be what you call it."

Lie.

It's law that angels aren't supposed to fall in love with humans. It's forbidden. We aren't supposed to fall in love at all. I was kicked out of heaven for falling in love with you... But I can't tell him any of this yet... He has to think I was sent to protect him. And I will.

"I suppose that makes sense-"

Woozi interrupts him, "How come you caused a crater that massive though? Aren't angels supposed to be more graceful than that?"

"Rough landing." I shrug my shoulders.

Joshua continues, "As I was saying, I understand that, but why should we believe you. No offense but unless you have proof of some kind, it'll be difficult to take your word for it. This whole thing is kind of farfetched."

Remaining silent, I slowly get to my feet, ignoring the pinpricks of pain that shoot through me. Humans are so complex, never believing something unless they see it. I carefully will my wings to appear. Suddenly a comforting weight rests on my back. I can see the shimmering feathers out of the corner of my eye. Joshua and Woozi stare at me in awe.

Then the world begins to swirl, quickly shifting to black. I used too much energy already. Showing my wings only drained what little I gained back during my short nap. My knees give out. Before I fall, Joshua and Woozi catch me by the arms and carefully sit me back down on the couch.

Something catches me off guard. Woozi... He's in pain, more mentally than physically. Something happened, something he hasn't told Joshua about. Something about his parents. As they release me, it clicks.

I open my eyes slowly, which immediately flit to see the dark colored bruise on Woozi's right cheek. He was struck across the face by his mother's hand.

And from what I can tell, its happened more than once.

I can only feel people's emotions, glimpse a bit into their memories. But I can't read minds. Besides, I only know what they feel upon contact.

Woozi meets my eyes for second, before looking away.

"Are you alright??!" Joshua asks in a worried tone.

"Yeah," I nod slowly, looking back at him, "I just used a lot of energy getting here and showing my wings wasn't the best idea. I'll have to be more careful later on."

My wings vanish and exhaustion washes over me once again. The pain numbs. Any wounds I have will heal over a short period of time. I need sleep for now.

"I'm sorry to ask but, do you have a room I could borrow for the time I remain here? I don't have anywhere else to go..."

"Sure!!" Joshua faces Woozi, "It's gotten late. You should probably head home too."

Only I seem to notice the quick look of fear Woozi shows him before turning it into a smile, "Yeah! Its been a long day!"

The two high five and Woozi walks towards the front door, about to leave, "See you guys tomorrow!!"

I wave goodbye to him and he finally leaves, closing the door behind him. Their goodbye is short, awkward. Hopefully tomorrow will be a smoother day...with less complications.

The rest of the evening is a blur. Joshua lends me clothes to wear to bed and shows me to a guest bedroom across the hall from his. We say goodnight as if I'm a normal human being, acting like nothing happened, that I'm not an angel and didn't fall from heaven, and we head to bed.

For the first hour of night, I lay on top of the covers, staring at the blank ceiling, unable to fall asleep. Everything changed so quickly. It's a heartbroken sort of feeling. Nothing feels familiar.

Nothing at all.

-Joshua's POV-

Falling asleep came easy to me, after all, it was a school day. Though waking up at 1:37 in the morning was not as enjoyable. After a dream I barely remember, I sluggishly climb out of bed to go get a glass of water downstairs. On my way I out, I almost trip.

I glance down to see Jeonghan curled up at the foot of my bed. Why is he here? I gave him a room? Was something wrong with it?

This man, angel, was different. An angel is not something you come across everyday. Once he showed us his wings, me and Woozi accepted his story, no questions asked. Jeonghan looks to be about my age, though who knows really? After all, we don't have a clue how long he was in heaven for. I admit, his wings were breathtaking. It seemed unusual for one to be a white and the other black. That didn't matter though. It was real. Jeonghan was real. Angels were real.

It was all so hard to comprehend. With a sigh, I grab a quilt hanging on the back of a chair and drape it over him.

You could tell he was tired. After Jeonghan almost passed out again, I knew not to ask anything else until later.

He's a stranger to me and yet I feel like I have some bond with him. I care for him.

But why?

I crawl back into bed. A thought occurs to me, just as I drift off to sleep.

His eyes...Jeonghan's eyes are an extremely attractive shade of brown, gold seemingly weaved in. They shone as bright as the sun.

It is certainly a heavenly color.
