“People can have their opinions about everything in the world, but people's opinions end where the tip of my nose begins. Your opinions of others can only go so far as to where their own shoreline is. The world is for your taking, but other people are not. One is only allowed to have an opinion of me, if that person is done educating him/herself on everything about me. Before people educate themselves on everything about you, they're not allowed to open their venomous mouthes and have an opinion about you.” -- C Joybell. C

Autumn closed the door of her apartment with a slight thud, the car keys in her hand jingling, announcing her arrival.
She had to admit that the day had gone better than she had expected. However, she was under no illusion that everything was fine. There were still many problems buzzing around her life.
After Nathan had left, she had resolved silently to sort out all her differences with Scarlett. No matter how hard it would be to apologise for something she had said in the heat of the argument, she knew that it would be harder to get Scarlett to agree to listen to her.
As she changed into clothes which were a little more comfortable than her work formals, she pondered upon what she would do to make things right with her roommate.
After washing up, she began making some coffee. While she sat looking out through the window, slowly sipping on the hot beverage, the door resounded with a thud again. Autumn jumped up and swiftly moved to greet Scarlett.
“Hey!” she said, enthusiastically.
“Hi.” Scarlett said emotionlessly as she placed her things on the living room table.
“Can we talk?” Autumn asked, placing her half-filled cup of coffee on the table.
“No.” Scarlett said, tying her thick black hair into a pony. “But, I can listen to you.”
Autumn nodded. At this point, she would take what she could get.
“I’m sorry.” She simply said.
Scarlett paused before replying, “For what?”
Autumn sighed mentally realising that this wouldn’t be easy. “I’m sorry I said such awful things about you. I know you were only trying to look out for me. Please, forgive me?” she bit her lower lip nervously.
“None of this changes what you think of me.” Scarlett replied.
“Scar, what I said….” Autumn paused as she sat down on the sofa and pulled her legs up, “I didn’t actually mean it.”
“Of course, you did!” Scarlett raised her voice. “People just don’t make up comments like those out of nowhere.”
“But-“ Autumn tried to intercede and defend herself.
Scarlett held out her hand. “If you’re going to argue with me, we might as well stop having this conversation.”
“I’m sorry, Scarlett.” Autumn said, again. “I really am. I know I was a jerk to you and to everyone who was in the rink. I know I’ve broken some things that I can never mend, but I wouldn’t like for one of those to be our friendship.” She waited for a reply but received none. “Come on, I’ll make it up to you. What would you like me to do?” She gave a hopeful smile at the stubborn girl in front of her.
Scarlett’s eyes suddenly gleamed. “Anything?” she asked with the slightest of smirks.
“Yes.” Autumn said, bracing herself, “Anything.” She stood up, again.
