Chapter 1 Meet AuroraEdit

Meet Aurora

Added by Pony12211

A small, black kittypet she-cat sat on the fence of her Twolegs house. She stared up at the moon. It was dark, and she heard nothing but the sounds of crickets in her ears and trees blowing around, whilst other Twolegs were asleep and the Thunderpath was empty. Aurora sighed, thinking about what life had ahead of her. She would never dare to jump the fence; to become one of those mangy wild cats, rumors were told that they were horrible. Safe in that Twoleg house she was. As she was lost deep in thought, she decided to go explore the wild, something she would never dare to do. Something that was a real risk. She wanted to see what was so special about the wild; what she had been told. Surely, if she stayed close to home, nothing would happen, right? Taking a deep breath, she leaped down from the Twoleg fence, finding herself out on a small path that lead into a bush for the first time. She sat there, stunned, looking around on what the world had to offer, wondering where she should start. She decided to follow the path, what she thought was the safest route. Aurora looked around, slowly stalking towards the bush, being wary of what was around her. As she entered the bush, she was covered with all sorts of garden things around her, sticks, stones, bark, and many, many trees. In the corner of her ear she heard many owls, but no birds, which she realised they must of been sleeping. Through the bush she went, her pelt prickling, enjoying the soft gras beneath her paws and numerous leaves brushing her sides as she walked through. It was dark, so her eyes could see better, yet it was still hard to see in this bush. Trees, and numerous amounts of plants were covering the whole of it. She scrambled through the ferns and out what looked like a mini forest park. Creeping closer, deeper into the forest, still being wary, she thought she heard something. Stop being so scared, she thought. It was just a tree. But that's when, as she took her paws faster into the forest, she ran into a red-she cat with a flame redish color pelt. Oh, this has got to be bad, she thought. Her eyes were wide in alarm, and she just wanted to race her paws right back outside the Twoleg garden, onto the fence and into the safe, warm house she had always lived. But she knew she couldn't go back now, not like this. She shaked with fear, thinking she would of been eaten. This was her worst nightmare, running into one of these cats. The she-cat walked right up to her and looked right into her eyes. Ducking down, Aurora looked up at her with fear.

"You're a long way from home, kittypet" Aurora heard the flame-redish she-cat meow. Not with fear, nor warningness, just calm. Oh god no, she must of noticed my collar. She shook her head. She took a deep breath, waiting for the killing bite that would come next. But it didn't. Instead, the cat replied camly. "There's no reason to take you back now. Follow me". Hesitating, Aurora followed her. If she didn't, she would be dead for sure by now, and perhaps even eaten by a wolf. Snap out of it, she thought. She wouldn't want to be more panicked. So as she did, Aurora followed her through an old abaonded Thunderpath, which looked very old, very ancient. Glancing around, she skidded to a halt, and so did Aurora, beneath the she-cats paws. Scanning her eyes around, it lead to a secret hidden place on the end. I couldn't beleive what I saw. Wow. It looked very ancient, and much a mystery. Aurora wanted to look around but she didn't dare to leave the she-cat. Maybe she would later. "By the way", Aurora heard the soft she-cats voice meow, "I am Kari". She answered with a greatful nod. "I am Aurora". Kari nodded and then padded away towards a bunch of ferns, and dissapeared into them. I wonder where she's going, Aurora thought. Best not to follow her though. Now was her chance to look around. Aurora scented the air, smelling everything, and explored this little area. She saw numerous amounts of plants, logs, trees and rocks, even a few mossy beds. Licking her paws, she heard pawsteps. Oh not another cat, she thought. But as she looked up, and heard a meow, she saw a white tom-cat, with black stripes on the sides of his pelt. Who was this cat? She was again, shaken with fear. But the tom silenced her with a flick of his tail. "We must get ready for the gathering" he calmy said. "It's almost the full moon". "Gathering? What's a gathering?" Aurora replied, nervously. What was a gathering? She was so used to being a kitty-pet, and now she couldn't go back. She was probably what one called one of those horrible, forest cats who did nothing but use claws and eat mice all day. She winced at the thought of that. Then she saw another cat come back out from a clump of brambles, with the same redish flame pelt as Kari had. She realised, this must be Kari. "Yes gathering" said Kari. "It's where all clan cats come together for peace under the full moon" "You can come if you want". Aurora was nervous, but gave a nod. What horror did she have to face, with all wild cats standing in front of her tonight?
