It didn't take more than five minutes to make it up to the control room. The only problem we had encountered was tricking the Dauntless traitors outside the door into letting us in. All we had to do was mention Jeanine Matthews and we were instantly granted access. As we locked the doors behind us, I heard the guards shouting for us to open the doors. Tobias took that as a sign to get to work on stopping this madness. I smiled as he got to work because, who am I kidding. He was sexy when he concentrated on things. And I'd be lying if this whole Erudite thing wasn't making him concentrate 10 times more than normal. My back relaxes as my mind comes to the realization that as of right now, we are safe. I can't possibly know if it'll always be this way, but I can hope and pray. But pray to who? The Abnegation prayed to God, but who did the Dauntless worship? What about the faction I'm half in and half out of, Erudite. Do they ever pray to anything besides their books? I have a feeling that I won't ever know. Or, for lack of better terms, won't live long enough to find the answer. As I shake my head to get rid of the thoughts of death, Tobias looks over at me.
"You okay Tris?"
"Never better," I smirk playfully and stride over to the chair he's sitting in. He doesn't pry further though. Tobias knows that now is not the time and he'll get an answer later. As he focuses back on the many screens and flashing buttons, I rub circles on his back. So strong, like the soul that resides beneath all the muscles and tissue.
