I awoke a few hours later to the sound of stomping. Half-asleep, I stumbled around the apartment until I reached the door. I looked through the peephole and was alarmed. Every Dauntless man, woman, and child were mindlessly making their way to the Pit. The sight of so many Dauntless members marching together as one shocked me out of my sleep. I quietly turned around and ran back to Tobias. I shook him rather roughly as my body started to panic. He yawned and I practically jumped out of my skin. He looked up at me, confused for a moment and then came the questions.

"Tris what's wrong? Why are you shaking? Did I do something? Don't tell me, I hurt you last night?! Please, sweetie. Just tell me what's wrong." He mumbled and I barely heard him over the chaos in my brain. I shook my head at his last question and whispered into his ear, afraid the people outside would hear me and take me away from Tobias. My rock. My everything. My whole world. And in that moment, I knew what I had always wanted to do. I kissed him, full on the lips. Not caring that the Dauntless on the other side of the door could probably hear our moans as we deepened the kiss. My lungs shouted for oxygen and I obliged. As we sat in a tangle of limbs panting, I told Tobias why I woke him up.

"Dauntless.... stimulation? Don't know... what's..... wrong. Wandering towards the Pit......... Mindlessly. I don't know," I clung to his chest as I whispered the last part. I thought he'd ask me to repeat, but surprisingly he didn't. Apparently he listened to every word that came out of my mouth. He nodded and got up. As I opened my lips to ask where he was going, he went into the closet and came back in his normal attire. Tight black shirt, dark jeans that fit him just right, and his combat boots that are on the verge of collapse. I relaxed at the familiar sight and walked over to the only sane thing in this messed up world. I gripped his tight chest and sighed in relief as his strong and smooth arms snaked around my small torso. Before he laid his head on top of mine, he kissed the very top of my nose. I smiled into his chest and took in a breath of his comforting scent. Soap, and the smell that only he has. I know I won't ever be able to name or even properly describe it. So I gave in to my brain and grabbed the back of his neck, right where his head connects with my right hand and lifted myself up onto my toes. As he sensed what I wanted, he leaned in to seal the kiss. When I came up for air, I decide to go get dressed and I did just that. I slip out of his warm embrace and into the dark closet.
