I'm Back

Arizona's POV
It's Thursday. Carina and I have a surgery together so I'm super, super excited for it.
Last night we spent the night together and it was the funniest night I've had in a while.
Since Callie, Carina is the first woman to brink a real smile to my face and I have a really good feeling about us. She makes me laugh, she makes me feel pretty and she keeps me on my toes with her super, super sexy accent.

Callie's POV
It's 10:30 when my taxi arrives at the hospital.
After a long flight and dropping the bags at the hotel, I couldn't be happier.
My relationship with Blake ended two weeks after we arrived in NY. She just didn't do it for me. All I though about was Arizona and how all this time I was using Blake to get Arizona of my mind but as soon as we landed in New York and I realised I wasn't going to see Arizona anymore. Not around the hospital, not on the cafeteria, I wasn't going to hear her laugh down the hall or smell her perfume in the elevator. I realized all of it and it sucked.
I tried, even after realizing all of it I tried with Blake but the connection was gone and all I could think about was Arizona and Seattle so two weeks later I grabbed mine and Sofia's bags and left. We stayed at an apartment downtown because I needed to finish my contract but after Sofia left for Seattle I gave up.
I quite my job and spent six mouths in Miami working at the local hospital until I build up the courage to phone the number I stared at for eight months since I left the hospital, Miranda Bailey's.

Talk with Bailey
"Hey Callie! No time no see"
"Hey! Yeah I know, I'm sorry I never checked in again life just doesn't slow down you know?"
"Yeah I know. How's New York and Blake?"
"Yeah, I was calling to talk to you about that actually.." Callie paused.
"How come?"
"Long story short I left NY six months ago and I was calling to ask you if you... Um..."
"If I what Callie, spill it out!" Bailey demanded.
"If you still had a job for me" Callie blurted out so fast that Bailey almost didn't understand it.
"Well.. Callie, you know it's been eight months since you left, a lot of things have changed, I had to hire a new Ortho chief and I can't just fire him.."
"Oh Bailey.. I know a lot has changed and that it's been a long time but help a girl out. I can promise you I won't be leaving again. Promise, promise, promise. And I can just work as an ortho attending if you'd prefer but just let me go back to MY hospital, my town, my home.." Callie desperately asked
"Callie are you sure about coming back? Because eight months is a long time. Things change, people find other people and.."
"You're talking about Arizona right?" Callie interrupted Bailey mid though.
"Yeah.. Look it's not my place to talk to you about it. I've got to go, I have a surgery in 5"
"Wait Miranda! You didn't give me an answer!" Callie almost yelled through the phone.
"The job is yours if you want it. Next Monday morning at eight, be here!" Bailey said.
"Ok! But I work as an attending or.."
"Of course not Torres. I can't have the best Ortho doctor in the country working as just an attending. The Department chief job is waiting for you on Monday. Don't be late!"
"Ok! Thank you so so so so much Miranda!"
"Yeah Yeah.. Oh and Callie?"
"Yes.."
"I'm happy you decided to come home!"
"So am I Bailey, so am I"

And so after her phone call with Bailey, Callie had two days to be back in Seattle so she packed everything, said goodbye to her dad and Aria and left Miami on the first flight to Seattle.
She spent the hole Sunday sitting around her hotel bedroom nervous as the hours went by that she'd see Arizona and Sofia on the next day.

Arizona's POV
Monday mornings always sucked but today was the worst. Not only had she missed her alarm but Sofia was sick so she had to take her with her to work.

"Come on Sof.. Hurry up, I owed to drop you at the attendings lounge before 9!" Arizona told a sick Sofia Torres as she pulled her by her hand.
"But mommy I don't wanna be alone!" Sofia talked back.
"I know baby but you can't be spreading your germs everywhere so you'll just have to stay there and do your school work until mommy comes to get you for lunch ok?" Arizona said.
She stoped at the nurses station to sign some discharge papers before taking Sofia down the hall. She always did discharges as soon as she arrived so that the kids could be home as fast as possible.
"Good morning" she heard in a sexy Italian accent.
She looked up and smiled "Hey!"
Carina lined in and they shared a quick kiss.
"Discharges?" Carina asked.
"Yeah, Sof's home sick so I'm taking her to the attendings longe but I just need to get this done. You?" She asked concentrated on the paper but looking you to see Carina's response.
"Hey Sof!" She said, Sofia gave her an high five and than went back to concentrating on the kid's show that was playing in the waiting room.
"Just came to tell you good morning!" Carina smiles.
Arizona was about to respond to her girlfriend's sweet comment when she heard a "Mommy". Sofia let go of her arm so quickly that she almost yanked it.
"Sofia don't..." and Arizona lost her words at the sight. The she was. Callie Torres. Blue scrubs, white coat and hair in a pony tail.
"Hey baby" Callie said leaning down to hug Sofia"
When Callie looked up she smiled at Arizona and came closer.
"Hey" she smiled, a little wilder that what Arizona would expect since their last court encounter.
"Hey. What are you doing here? And in scrubs?" Arizona asked
"I work here now.." Callie responded.
"You work here now?" Arizona was confused.
"Yeah, Bailey gave me my job back"
"You're job back?" Arizona asked.
"Yeah, and you are?" Callie asked looking at Carina. Not in an harsh full way but in a "I want to get to know everyone" way.
"Carina Deluca, I'm a new OB/GYN attending.." Carina said smiling.
"I'm Callie T.."
"Callie Torres, Ortho and Arizona's ex, Yeah I know" Carina said
"Oh you're a friend of Arizona's" Callie asked.
"I'm Arizona's girlfriend" Carina softly said.
