After Castiel had showered, Dean gave him some jeans and a t-shirt to wear. They were a little baggy but not too bad. He came downstairs to Dean watching T.V. already dressed and ready to go. Dean looked at cas with his bright green eyes and smiled. Cas' chest tingled and he didn't have any idea why.
"Ready to go?" Dean asked
Cas smiled in return
"Yeah.. could I ask you something?" He asked
"Of course," Dean responded and turned off the T.V.
"I really appreciate you being so nice to me.. and basically saving my life, I really do... but are you sure I'm not bothering you? I mean we're total strangers and I could be a serial killer for all you know. I'm not, I promise, but I could be."
Dean chuckled and looked him in the eyes. His eyes looked tired. Exhausted, even. Beaten, scarred, traumatized possibly... but not evil. Not mean or anything bad. All Dean saw in his eyes was a man who had been through too much but who had a heart of gold.
"Something tells me I have nothing to worry about. And no, you're no problem at all. If this doesn't sound too creepy," he chuckled, "I could actually really use another person in the house. It's just me and sometimes my little brother whenever he decides to come home on a weekend. He's in college studying to be a lawyer."
Cas gave a small smile.
"Well thank you very much for letting me stay here for a while," Cas said
"Like I said earlier, stay as long as you need or want." He said, standing up and grabbing his worn out leather jacket. Cas nodded and grabbed his shoes from by the door.
"So what movie should we see? Or do you even want to see a movie? We can do something else if you want." Dean asked.
"Whatever you'd like to do," Cas replied, "your house, your car, your money, you pick."
Dean smiled softly.
"I have an idea.." he jogged back inside and came out with a large blanket and put it in his trunk. He got in the drivers seat of his car and Cas got in the passenger side. Dean started the car and smiled.
"Listen to her purr," he chuckled.
Cas chuckled, "you really love you car, don't you?"
"Yep. She's my baby."
Cas smiled.
Dean turned to him, "since it appears to me that we may be living with each other for a while, I'm gonna lay down some ground rules for Baby. Number one; you scratch her, you die. Number two; you dent her, you die, I bring you back to life, and then I kill you again. Number three; you crash her and you literally die. And lastly, driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole. Oh and also, no hookups in Her. I don't need to smell sex stink every time I go for a drive."
Cas looked kind of spooked.
"Remind me to never scratch, dent, or crash her. And I don't think you'll have to worry too much about the hookup part of the music part. I'm not a hookup type of person and I listen to whatever." Cas said.
"Good," Dean replied, "long term relationship person?" He asked
"Yep," Cas responded.
"Standards. Good. You deserve someone nice."
Dean put Baby in reverse and backed out of his driveway as Cas blushed.
After about 10 minutes of driving, they arrived at the edge of a woods. Cas looked confused and Dean saw it.
"Just trust me," he reassured him.
Dean grabbed the blanket out of the trunk. There appeared to be something wrapped up in it but Cas didn't know what. Dean started walking into the forest and Cas followed.
They quickly came upon a large meadow which looked like a scene straight out of the fairytales Cas' older brother used to read to him when he was little and not hated by his entire family yet. His eyes lit up and his jaw dropped. Dean looked over and smiled. He just kept looking at him for a minute before finally speaking up.
"You like it?" He asked
"I... it's beautiful.." he responded, still staring in disbelief.
"I thought you would," Dean smiled.
Dean set the blanket on the ground and rolled it out. Cas saw that there was a medium sized bad wrapped inside of the blanket. There were also two pillows. Dean flattened out the blanket, layed the two pillows out at the top of the blanket, and set the ba down. He kicked his shoes off and sat down. Cas did the same. He immediately picked up on the smell of the blanket. It must've been one off of deans bed, as it smelled just like him. Leather, cologne, and... gunpowder? Whatever it was, Cas found it oddly soothing. Dean reached in the bad and pulled out a bottle of wine and two glasses. He then pulled out a quarter loaf of bread and a book. Cas looked at him.
"What's the bread for?" He asked
"You'll see," Dean said with a smile.
Cas just smiled in return.
Dean opened the wine bottle and poured them both a glass.
"So tell me about yourself," Dean said.
"Oh, where to start..?"
