J O N A H

I am dead.

I'm not actually dead but I look dead. I caught a glimpse at myself in the glass of this gas station. I almost go inside when I hear movement from inside. I freeze, it's too loud to be an animal meaning it's either a silencer or a survivor.. it's a 50 50 chance. So I go inside and all the movement stops and I hear a muffled voice and I stay near the front looking around acting oblivious. Now I don't mean to scare you but I'm pretty intimidating with my butter knife for a weapon. I'm kidding...
"Drop your weapons." A voice says rushing.
"Okay okay." I say dropping my butter knife and backpack I turn and see what I least expect to see. I see a boy. An attractive boy. Of course this boys nose is basically touching mine and he has a gun to my head but I'm frozen in time. I look into his eyes and suddenly I want to grasp his face and kiss him. His gun halters for a second and he gazes at me then almost instantaneously he snaps back into reality and inches his face close enough so now our noses are touching.
"Are you going to kill me or my brother?"
"No of course not!"
"Are you positive?"
"Yes, in positive."
"Okay..."
"Are you gay?"
"W-what?"
"Are. You. Gay?"
"Yes. Why does it concern you?"
"Well yeah actually it does."
He looks at me and then laughs turning and saying "come on might as well get you set up."

We all sleep at the end of a bunch of isles. Jax, his little brother sleeps in a cabinet that is open but can close just in case and he keeps it closed at night. Daniel, the guy, sleeps at an end of one of the isles and I sleep at the end of the other isle.
"Your lucky you still have your little brother, mine passed away in the third wave," I say barely whispering. Daniel looks at me then he says, "yeah I guess."
"I'm cold,"
"Me too, but you never know if the fire could tell a silencer where we are,"
"Your right," I sigh.
I hear a mumbled, "fuck it." And he gets up blankets and pillow in hand and brings them to me and says, "get up," I gladly stand and he sets up a bed with blankets. He looks worried and says, "now this is for warmth...jax has like five blankets so that leaves us with three, we are going to cuddle for warmth," then I look like a tomato. Beet red.
"Okay."
"You know I never asked you, are you gay?"
I stutter and say, "Y-yeah I'm gay." He smiles and says, "great, lie down." I obey and lie down and he lies down next to me putting blankets over us and holding me in his arms. I stiffen at first then I wrap my arms around his waist and drift off into the land of sleep.
