The war

Magnus POV
Its been two months since Alexander left. Valentines army grew stronger and now we are at war. For all I know he could have been killed in the war. For all I know he could be home tomorrow. For all I know he could come home in 5 years. That's no way of knowing. Two weeks before he left he proposed. I didn't think he would want to marry me because I'm immortal. Isabel stared to help us plan the wedding. Then he got drafted. Now he's gone. Wait. Jace knows if he's ok. His parabati rune! I called Jace to ask him.
Once he picked up i said, " Hey Jace I have a question."
"What's up"
"Is Alexander ok? Please tell me your Parabati rune is still there."
" Yeah he's fine. I haven't felt any intense pain. He's fine."
" Thank the Angel. "
" You would be the first i told if anything happens."
"Ok thank you Jace. Bye"
I hung up. Thank the Angel my darling is ok. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to him.
"I love you Alexander."

Alec POV
I've been here for what... Two months now? Is that all? Feels like longer. Every day it's get up, without Magnus. Get ready, without Magnus. Fight, without Magnus. I can't help but miss him. I ant stop thinking about him. Right now its early in the morning. Soon my team and I are going out on patrol. Valentines army usually attacks in the morning thinking that we won't be prepared.
(now on patrol)
We are making our way around our camp. We always check this area first. Now we are going towards the enemy line. More towards danger. I can't focus. I can't stop thinking about him. Ugh! Magnus why do you have to be so perfect!? In mid thought someone on my team yelled, " everyone get down!!" We all hit the ground and arrows started shooting at us. Grenades were being thrown. One landed close to me and exploded. There was a loss piercing noise then all I saw was blackness.

When I woke yup I was back at camp in the infirmary. They were trying to use my healing rune but for since reason it wasn't working. Whatever. Ill survive. I heard a nurse and another man talking from the other side of the room.
"Sir, the wound is bad. His rune isn't working. It is likely it will get infected and we will lose him. We have to send him home." The nurse said
"Are you sure there is nothing you can do? He's one of our best soldiers."
"Well we could call on a warlock. But since his rune isn't working their magic probably won't do anything. We don't have ever proper ingredients for a potion. We should send him home."
" Fine. We'll send him tomorrow."
I'm going home? I'm going home!! Finally ill get to see Magnus again.
Magnus POV
I was at the institute helping Jace heal someone's wound when he screamed and fell onto the floor in pain. He was unconscious. Does he just lay on the floor like that without moving? Wait. Oh no. Something happened to Alec. I used my magic to take off his shirt because his shoulder was bleeding. Ok its not that bad. He'll survive... I hope. He healed Jace with my magic because the wound was so bad. Hopefully they have a warlock wherever Alexander is. I really hope he's ok.
After wharf happened to Jace I was worn out so I went home. I wish he was here. Its been lonely without him. I climbed into the cold bed and fell asleep.
Two weeks later

Ever since what happened to Jace at the institute he hasn't felt any other pain. Alec must be healed. I wonder what he's doing now. All of a sudden I hear a knock at the door. Its probably Jace. He's been coming over a lot lately. Its probably because he missed Alec but he says that he's concerned for me.
"Jace how many times do I have to tell you. I don't need your help. Go home!"
"Ok I guess I'll leave the wedding planning to you and Izzy then."
It wasn't Jace.
"Oh my.." I ran to the door and opened it"Alec!! Thank the angel!"
I hugged my beautiful fiancée but quickly pulled away as he winced in pain.
" Alec what's wrong?"
"My shoulder."
I took off his shirt to look at the wound. Its the same as Jaces wound. I told him to lay on the couch and he did as he was told. It took a bit to heal and a lot of my strength but I healed him.
"Thanks babe."
"No problem.😊. I'm so glad your home."
"Me too"
"Alexander. I was terrified. Not knowing if you were dead or alive. It was terrifying. I dont know how long I would've lasted without you."
"Hey don't talk like that. I love you too much to give up on you. I will always fight to stay with you. I'm not leaving any time soon."
We spent the rest of the day in our house. We cuddled on the couch and we enjoyed the others presence. We didn't talk about what Alec went through. I don't mind if we never talk about it. Obviously we need to start planning the wedding. But now neither of us are thinking of the future or the past. We are both here in the moment. Both feeling the happiness we've felt in a long time.
