Monster - any animal or human grotesquely deviating from the normal shape, behavior, or character.
That monster has forgotten how to be human, he’s too far from humanity that all he now knows is to grotesquely destroy all around him.
“You shouldn’t fall in love with a monster.”
“Why?”
“He’ll tear you apart from the inside.”
“I honestly don’t believe that. . .”
“You should, it’s all he knows to do any more. He knows nothing other than hurting those around him."
Should have listened, this broken girl should have headed the words of her friend. She’s no longer pure, no longer innocent, no longer selfless. She’s just there. She fell for a monster, someone who knew nothing other than the actions of killing and having another’s blood smeared upon his hands. She should have believed her friend’s words that day, all those years ago when they had it. She should have. . . If she had payed attention to those words, she wouldn’t have eyes that only show a person their reflection. She wouldn’t have the pale skin, the near eroded skin.
She used to be an adventuress, someone who had a fire within her that inspired. She used to be able to talk, to laugh, to smile. She used to have hair that shined like sun rays, eyes that rivaled the sky on the clearest of days, skin that could put pearls to shame. Now, she’s a broken beauty, torn apart because she loved a monster.
Her name had used to be cheered, chanted through Aaa, all because she saved them from an easy task. She used to have a crush on the ruler of Aaa, Bubba Gumball, but now she doesn’t feel anything. She’s too broke. . .
Fionna the famous human girl, the only human known to be alive after The Mushroom War. Such a great life, wasted because of a feeling that torn her. Love is normally unexpected in it’s actions, but to what had happened in this situation made a new definition to ‘unexpected’.
It was unexpected for her to fall for Marshall, such a monster as he was. It was unexpected for him to fall back, such numbness he lived with for most his life. Unexpected was it for a love as strong as Marshall and Fionna’s to go up in flames as if made of dry timbers. Unexpected it was to see a monster come back just to save his love.
Fionna had watched her love go up in flames, smiling at the fact he had saved her, but destroying her from the inside still. He changed, he was no longer a monster, no longer a gruesome killer, but instead he was a creature that cared enough to die for one who held his heart. . .
Fionna is a statue of grief, trying to move on like she had promise Marshall those last few moments he lived, but she couldn’t get him out of her head. He was a monster, for even befriending her like he had, for messing with her head. He was her monster, though, so not a single soul could know what she goes through every second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, without him. How she’s even able to do it, as a robot, is a miracle to the Candy people, but they try to get her mind off the monster they knew the vampire to be, before he had fallen.
Monsters destroy all around them in such grotesque ways, it’s hard to tell if one changed.
