A new friend

Brooke was sick today so I had to sit alone at lunch. Thank God I didn't see Cathleen all day. A girl comes up to me and says

" do you want to come sit with me and my friends."

"no" I said "I'm fine"

moments later she came back with her lunch and sat with me. her friends did not follow. they thought I was weird too.

"thanks" I said

"welcome" she said "ya don't have many friends do ya"

"na I don't." I said truthfully "I'm just different."

"I know" she said

"you do ?"

"yeah everyone does."

"how do they know my secret."

"what secret?"

"o never mind ."

"no you started the conversation."

"come to the bathroom"

"ok ."

the two girls went to the bathroom.

"don't scream. promise?"

"promise."

I turned into myself. Paige did not scream but she was scared. too scared to comprehend. I turned back.
