How Much Does He Know?

I wake up to a knock on my bedroom door. I'm confused until I remember Leo.

Leo.

I jump out of bed, and fix my pajamas as I open the door. I'm not surprised to see Leo standing there. What surprises me is that he's holding a tray with my favorite breakfast.

We stare at each other until he breaks the silence. "I made breakfast for you. I hope that's ok."

I smile as I sit at the table. "Thanks Leo. How'd you know this was my favorite?"

He smirks "I read a book about you."

"Oh. Yeah." I gulp, realizing he knows more about me then I thought. How many of my secrets does he know?

Does he know all my insecurities? My stupid crushes? My dreams? My thoughts? My mind is a land mine. Hopefully he doesn't know that much.

"You ok?" Leo's looking at me weird.

"What? Oh. I'm fine."

"You don't look so good."

"I'm fine." I slightly glare at him.

"You sur-"

I interrupt him. "I said I'm fine."

He flinches at my tone and I look away. Why was I in such a bad mood? I mean my favorite person was with me.

After a few minutes of silence I speak up, still staring at my feet. "How much do you know?"

"What?"

"How much do you know about me?"

I look up to see him studying me. "I know.." He pauses. "Enough."

I wince and stand up, leaving my food, and walking to my bedroom. I don't look back, but as I shut my door, I hear him say one word.

It sounds sad, pleading, and confused. "Dayla?"

I realize it's the first time I've heard Leo say my name.

I walk into my bathroom and hop in the shower. I'm glad I have a bathroom in my room. I don't want to face Leo right now.

Tears roll down my face as I scrub my hair. Eventually I get out and dry off. I pull on some jeans and a t-shirt.

I don't even know why I'm crying. I guess I just never thought anyone would know this much about me. I never thought anyone would know my insecurities. I guess that scares me.

I pull my hair into a ponytail, brush my teeth, and put on some converse. I sit on my bed and stare at the door. I can't help thinking about Leo.

Leo Valdez is in my house. Leo Valdez made me breakfast. I freaked out at Leo Valdez. I feel terrible. How would I like it if my favorite character yelled at me like that? He probably thinks I hate him. All he's done is be kind to me.

I put my head in my hands. I'm a terrible person. I ought to go talk to him.

Taking a deep breath, I stand up and open the door, to see Leo standing there.

"S-sorry. I was about to knock." He combs his hand through his curly hair.

I nod and let him in, sitting on the edge of my bed. I stare at my hands in my lap, as he sits next to me.

Taking a deep breath, I start. "Listen, I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have freaked out like that. It's just-" I pause as I realize he's hugging me.

"It's okay Day. I know what you mean. But please trust me. I'll never try to hurt you."

I hug him back. "Thanks Leo."

We sit like that until he pulls away. "Come on. You still need to eat."

I shrug. "I'm not really hungry."

"Pleeease eat?"

"Fine." I laugh.

I follow him to the kitchen and he pulls out my chair.

I blush. "Thanks."

He nods and sits across from me.

I quickly eat and moan at how good it is. "You're an amazing cook."

He chuckles, "I know."

I quickly finish and stand up, washing off my dishes. "Do you need anything? Clothes? Tools?

He points to his waist, where his toolbelt sits. "I have this."

"Oh."

"Yeah, we probably ought to figure out what we need to do. I think I'll have to do a quest."

I grin. "Then I'm going with you."
