Today was the day. Today was the day I was moving in with my new roommate. I barely know him, the only reason I know him is because my best friend, Lydia, told me that he was looking for a roommate. I was also looking for a roommate because I have back moved here from New York. She would often go on and on about how much I'd like him and how much we'd get along. But I barley know the man. Of course I've seen him before and I've talked with him, but that's only when there is a group of people with us.

"Madeline? Are you listening or are you daydreaming" Lydia snaps me out of my trance that I was in.

"Uhh, yeah I'm listening." I lied to her. I was just thinking about cole. I was wondering about what it might just be like living With him.

"Great, because we're here" she says with happiness in her voice. She's always been a happy person. I've never knew how a person could be filled with such joy.

I grabbed my suitcases from the trunk of her car and went to the front door. Standing there wondering if I just made the best decision or the worst; i don't heist and knock on the door.

"You don't have to knock you know, it is where you live after all" Lydia says as she opens the door.

The house wasn't big but it wasn't small. It was just the perfect size for two people. There was a grey couch with a coffee table in front of it. There were plants about everywhere and I couldn't make out if the were fake or real. The place looked just like my old apartment in New York but better.

"Cole?" Lydia yelled. She had no problem with making herself a home in here. Then again she's always been that way.

The next thing I see is a man turn the corner. He looked stunning. He had brown hair and freckles and moles on his face and neck. Then he had those eyes, those eyes that could make anyone in the room fall in love with him.

"Cole, it's so good to see you!" Lydia engulfs him into a hug. She doesn't have to get on her tippy toes since she's wearing heels.

"Madeline." He smiles as he lets go of Lydia. He brings me into a strong hug with a tight but gentle squeeze. He smells like Hollister but not too strong .

Once Cole lets go of me he smiles at me once again. He's much taller than me, considering the fact that he's 6'0 I'd say I'd have to reach up to hug him.

He took my bags and took them to my room which was right across from his. The room had a white bed close to the window, there was a desk that was also white, then there was a bookshelf with a lot of my favorite books on it that I had sent to California so they'd be here when I'd arrive, then there was orchids and other plants everywhere.

"Lydia did you do this?" I ask in shoock because it looked so beautiful

"Lydia did you do this?" I ask in shoock because it looked so beautiful. I run my hands against the walls just to feel how real it is.

"I got the furniture but cole did the rest" she says with a proud smirk plastered on her lips.

I turn to genuinely smile at cole, "thank you, very much" I say with meaning in my voice. He looks down and smiles I can tell he's trying to hide the fact that he's blushing.

He suddenly clears his throat and that clears the awkwardness that filled the room. "Lydia do you wanna stay for a little while? I have wine and tequila if you want anything." He says as he looks at her.

" I actually have to go home," she says as we follow her out into the living room." I told stiles I'd be back by six but you should stop by one day because stiles says he wants to see you." She says grabbing her purse and heading towards the door.

Her and stiles have been a thing for around 3 years now. Ever since senior year they been a thing.

"You two have fun." She sends us a playful wink as she walks out the door.

I walk back into my room where I start to unpack my clothes and other stuff that I brought along with me. There's a sudden knock on my door.

"Come in." I shout loud enough for him to hear.

"Hey, you wanna eat something because you must be starving due to the fact that you've been-" I cut him off because he was rambling.

"Cole, I'd love to get something to eat with you." I say as I stopped him mid sentence. "Just give me at least 5 minutes." I say to him getting up and heading to the bathroom.

I put my hair up into a bun and touched up my makeup just a little. I didn't want to look like I tried too hard.

I walked out into the living room where cole sat on the couch on his phone just waiting for me.

"Okay, I'm ready." I say as he gets up starting at me. It wasn't a bad stare it was a compliment kinda stare.

"Where do you wanna go?" He asks me.

"Surprise me." I say looking up to him.

He took me to this nice Italian restaurant that was very small and seemed to be family business.

"So a journalist huh?" He says chucking, still laughing from previous things.

"So photography huh?" I say mocking him in a joking manner.

"Yeah, photography it's like an art except I can't draw so I chose that." He says eating his pasta.

"That's kinda what it is for my journaling, I can't stick with one topic so I write articles or I'll write poetry, just so my mind can vary with emotions" I say smiling at him.

The rest of the dinner was nice and calm. I got to know a lot about him and he got to know a lot about me.

Once we got home we both went to our rooms to get ready for bed.

"Hey.." he said knocking one my door as it was already party open. "Lydia told me about how you often have nightmares which lead to anxiety, so if you need me or want me to be by you I'm right across the hall." He said with emotion in his voice.

"Thanks." I say not looking at him, embarrassed about the nightmares. I didn't want him to think I was some 5 year old who was crying for her mommy.

-

I fell asleep thinking that maybe this was not the worst idea and I just might have fun.
