Chapter 11- Long night

Harry's Pov:

When the line went dead, I became furious. I have a bad feeling Jake had something to do with it. Niall is fuming with anger but is controlling it. As for me, well, I can't control it. The car ride is quiet and you could practically feel the tension in the car as we get closer to her house.

"What do you think is happening?" Niall flatly asked.

"I don't know, but Ella needs to be safe." I say in a hushed voice.

"You really care for her, huh?" Niall says. I soften a little when he mentions her name.

"Yeah, I really need to protect her." I say as we pull into the driveway.

We hear a scream from inside the house, and quickly rush out of the car and into the house with Niall close behind me. When we enter the house it's dead quiet. There is something wrong here, and I wait for any sound of life but there is none, this is odd. Niall walks down the hall and picks up a note left on the floor.

This is only the beginning. I will be watching you, you should watch your back. ~ Jake

As I look down, my hands are turning white but I don't care, I need to find Ella.

"ELLA!" I yell, my voice rings through out the house.

"H-h-h-harry?" Ella's small voice came from her room. Niall is on the phone with Marie making sure she's home safe.

I walk upstairs and see her room door open just a bit. I quickly rush into her room and see her sobbing. I walk over to her and wrap my arms around her protectively. I expect her to move away but to my surprise, she moves closer to me. Her tears staining my shirt but I could care less.

"Ella, what happened?" I asked her softly.

"I don't know, someone was in my house when I walked in. They had a knife and came at me." She sobbed.

"What else?"

"Well, he punched me and we ended up fighting and then he left like nothing happened. The weird part was he just disappeared." She was starting to calm down.

"Everything is going to be ok Ella, don't worry, I don't think hes coming back. Are you hurt?" I asked, my voice full of worry.

"Just bruises but, other than that I'm fine." She says and pulls ways.

"Ok, well call me if anyone hurts you or need help ok? I'm going to go." I say getting up and walking toward the door.

"No, Harry. Please don't leave me." She said with a weak voice.

"I won't leave you Ella. Do you want me to stay the night?" I ask. I get a small nod from her.

"Ok, well let me go tell Niall and make a few phone calls and I'll be right back. Go take a shower and get ready for bed." I say looking at her with a small smile.

I walk towards Niall and he is looking at his phone. I tap him on the shoulder to get his attention.

"How's Marie?" I ask.

"Good, nothing wrong. She said someone was following them then when Ella dropped off her and that he started following Ella." Niall said.

"Ok well I'm going to stay with Ella she is a bit shaken up." I say.

"Ok. What time do you want me to pick you up?" Niall asks.

"Actually, let me see if she will come with us. I think Jake was following her and sent one of his men here." I say a little harsher than intended.

"Yeah ok. I'll be in the car." He says and walks out of the house.

I make my way up to Ella's room and she is still in the shower. I look around the room and see two photos on her bed side table. I walk over towards the pictures and it takes me by surprise. One of the pictures is her mom, her dad, and her when she was smaller. She looked so happy. The other picture was of me and her, I remember that picture. We where sitting under the tree at the park, she had the happiest smile on her face and I was snapping the picture.

"I remember that photo, It was the only one I had to remember us." Ella's voice makes me jump a bit and I turn towards her and there is a small smile on her face as she looks at the old photo. Her smile fades as she looks away.

"I think it would be safer if you stayed at my place tonight." I said ignoring her comment.

"Ok, give me a minute to pack a small bag." She said as she walks over to her closet and grabs a small bag. As Ella is packing I notice her look around and shake her head like shes trying to push a thought away. I look out side her window and see Jake looking at her smirking. My fist balled in anger and I pulled the curtain shut, Ella looked at me worriedly. I quickly relaxed for her sake, I looked out the window to make sure he wasn't doing anything, but he just walked away into his car and drove off.

She was done packing and we started walking towards the car. I quickly open door for her receiving small giggle.

"Why thank you kind sir."She said jokingly to try to lighten the mood and distract her self from what happened.

"Your very welcome." I said back. She giggled again, her giggle is so cute. Stop Harry, don't go soft on this girl.

We climbed into the back seat as Niall was driving back to the house. Ella was deep in thought looking out the window and let out a heavy sigh. I kept rereading the note in my head. This isn't the worst part only the beginning. What he hell does he mean. Ella hasn't seen the note, should I let her read it? We arrive at the hotel and head to the room. Liam is sitting on the couch watching tv. Louis and Zayn must have went to have a drink. I take Ella to my room and we decided to watch a movie. Ella fell asleep when her phone lite up, I grab it out of coursity.

Hey babe, did you like my friends visit? Don't worry I will see you soon. Goodnight. - Jake

What the hell? I can feel my anger rising in me. I get out of bed careful not to wake Ella and set out to calm my self down.
