Late Night Drives~ G.D

It's been a year, a whole year without my mom. She fought so hard but soon lost her battle to cancer. Just remembering me getting ready to visit her but soon being told she passed away, that was one of my hardest and the funeral was so much worst.

I don't know how but I still manage to show up to school today. After my dad said not to go because today is a hard day for all of us I still went. Everyone knew about my mom and they were all devastated. Everyone loved my mom she was a hero to everyone but soon something horrible took her away. I felt my phone buzzed in pocket and I check to see Grayson had texted me.

Grayson❤️🖕: Hey just remember to keep your head up high today princess👑 love you💕

Me: thanks Gray, I just miss her so much😔 but I'll try my best✌🏻

Grayson's text put a small smile on my face. He's been my best friend since 5th grade. I can still remember the first day we met by heart. I had a crush on him at one point but things never happened and now he's like my brother so I don't have feelings for him. Just remembering the day I met him brings me a smile to my face.

Flashback:
"Ok class this is your new class mate Heaven so please show her how of a good class we are." My teacher said introducing me to the class.
"Ok Heaven go take a seat beside Grayson and he'll show your around the school in just a bit." She points to a cute boy.
I go sit but Grayson and say hi.
"Um Ms. Carl said you'll show me around school today" I say shyly.
"Ok I'm Grayson and you're lucky because  this is the best class and the best teacher in this grade" he says confidently.
" why do you say that" I giggle.
"Well that's because you have both Dolans in the same class." he says
I give him a strange look and look around the classroom to see what he's talking about. That's till I spot a boy who looks like Grayson. Oh so he's a twin that's nice. I turn back at him and smile.
"Ok so Ms. Carl said I can show you around and we'll start first with my favorite place the art room" he smiles.

As we were walking we talked about why I moved to New Jersey and about my family like if I have any siblings. Grayson told me about his family, his twin whose name turns out to be Ethan, and that he's younger by 20 minutes. I like Grayson but in a friend way because he's really funny.

"Heaven I think we're gonna be best friends no not think I know we are." He tells me as we get to the art room.
"So why is this your favorite place" I ask
"Because I like the creativity us kids put in the work I know some may not look good but still we're all creative in one way" he says.
"That's nice being creative is one my favorite things" I wonder the art room.
"Hey Heaven I know we just met today but let's make a promise that no matter what happens we'll always have each other's back" he sticks his pinky out.
"And we'll be each other's best friend including Ethan ok" I giggle sticking my pinky out.
We pinky promise than just laugh, then I get a tour of the whole school.
End of flashback.

I'll never forget that day, yea we may have gotten to fights but we never broke our promise. When I got to school everyone was surprised to see me. I just ignored all the looks and went to my class. I was the first in there so I took my headphones out and started listening to music. I had my music on shuffle, then 2 Chord started playing by Sleeping With Sirens. This was my mom's favorite song when they released the Madness album. My eyes started to get watery but I blinked them away. Just listening to Kellin's voice will make your day better but I don't think it will today.

My mom was the one that got me into listening to rock. Her favorite band was Sleeping With Sirens and mine was Pierce The Veil ( I recommend listening to them😉).
At first I thought it was stupid but when I payed attention to the Lyrics and that's when I got hooked on. It's like they write everything that we go through and what they went through then put it into a song.

As class started everyone seemed so sad today. Was everyone having a bad day or was it because they miss my mom like I miss her. Besides the new kids today was just not a good day. Grayson sat beside me gave me a small smile then looked down. I felt horrible because my mom was like a second mom to him. I shouldn't have showed up to school today I should've stayed home.

"You look just like her." Grayson said sad.
"I'm sorry" Is all I could say.
"No don't say sorry we know she's watching over us and doesn't have to deal with the pain no more" he hugs me.
"Please let's leave I don't know why I came" I say
"Let's go" he grabs my hand and we just leave.

Soon we just headed somewhere and someone we needed to visit... my mom.
