The school looked amazing. There was a driveway up to an iron fence that led into the grounds of Mendacia Prep. The building was huge compared to the last school I went to. It seemed so long ago that I was being called to the principal's office, but it was only this morning.

Mr. Olsen held the door open for me. I got out and Mr. Olsen said something. I was still in awe at the school so I didn't hear what he had said.

"Umm... Sorry what did you say?" I asked slightly embarrassed that I wasn't listening to him.

"Oh, it's fine everyone does that when they first see the school," He smiled at me and continued, "what I said was that you'll already have a room since you've been here before, though you don't remember them, you do have a few friends here as well." He started walking towards the school and I decided it might be good to follow him. As we got closer I saw students milling around the front of the school. Some were playing games while others were most likely studying. Mr. Olsen and I walked passed them and into the building. When we walked passed them they stopped talking and gawked at me in amazement and...fear? I let the feeling pass and kept following Mr. Olsen.

We were stopped by a man with white hair and cold blue eyes. He was dressed nicely and looked like a business man. Mr. Olsen smiled at him and said, "Michael this is the headmaster, Mr. Malum." He put his hand out and I shook it. It took all I had not to shiver. Something about this man scared me to the bone. His eyes were cold icicles impaling me. I looked away and to my savor, Mr. Olsen started talking again.

"Mr. Malum, we just got back from the trip. I was just heading for your office, but since you're here I'll just leave you to orientating Mr. Dulahunty." Mr. Olsen turned to leave but then Mr. Malum stopped him, "Actually, Mr. Olsen, an important meeting came up that I cannot miss. If you could find a student to show Mr. Dulahunty around then you could go back to your post." He said this with a sickly-sweet voice that made you want to do anything he said. I almost did what he asked before upon realizing that I couldn't show myself around. "It wouldn't take long."

Mr. Olsen's eyes were glazed over and he started walking down the hallway the opposite of where he was going, "yes sir" he said, "Come along, Michael." I stood there for a second trying to process what just happened, but I started to move. I couldn't stand being in a room with Mr. Malum for too much longer.

Once Mr. Malum was out of sight Mr. Olsen started coming to his senses. Whatever just happened Mr. Olsen didn't want to talk about it. We walked a little longer and we reached a door with the sign 'broadcasting room' above it. We went inside and Mr. Olsen went to a mic.

"Could the Student President and Vice president come to the broadcasting room, please?" Mr. Olsen said.

A few minutes later two students came into the broadcasting room. One was a girl with short light brown hair and piercing green eyes. The other was a guy with dark brown hair and light blue tips. He seemed familiar to Michael. The boy's eyes were brown and had flecks of green and gold in them. Michael found himself slightly blushing in the boy's presence.

Mr. Olsen introduced him to the two people." Michael, this is Mia Irvine and Jared Coverly." Mia looked at Michael with disgust, but Michael shook it off and looked at Jared. Jared didn't see Michael until that moment. His eyes went wide and for a second they looked scared. Immediately afterward Jared looked at the ground and seemed to blush. Michael looked at the ground too. Michael didn't know why when Jared looked him in the eyes for those few seconds it felt like butterflies or hornets were eating him alive from the inside.

"Jared and Mia are the vice president and president of the school," said Mr. Olsen, "if you have any problems go to them," He turned to Mia," Ms. Irvine, since your president, I need you to come with me to the office to sort out Mr. Dulahunty's paperwork. As for you, Jared, I need you to give him a tour of the school. Mr. Dulahunty's memory has been wiped clean and since you are his roommate it might be easier for him to recover it." Michael was stunned. Not only is this guy scared of him for a reason unknown, but now he was his roommate. At least he's cute Michael thought then immediately questioned himself for thinking that.

"well I'll leave you two to it then," Mr. Olsen concluded. And then he and Mia left.

He and Jared stood there for a while, both still looking at the ground. Michael guessed that he did something really mean to him before he had lost his memory.

"I...um guess we better get...uh...going before dinner, then," he spluttered and scratched his neck
