When they arrived at Trick Tower all 40 examinees are informed that the objective of stage 3 is to get down within 72 hours. While still on top 20 applicants were missing on top which means they already found there way to go down, leaving 20 more applicants behind. When Megumi is observing the other applicants she saw a guy went down so she went where the guy is she discovered that there were 5 trap doors she told her brother, leorio, mai, akari, killua, hisoka and gon when they said good bye to each other they all went down they saw Kurapika, Leorio, Gon, Megumi, Killua and Mai except for Akari and Hisoka. The group of Megumi went to many doors and finally saw a room there were people somewhat there like criminals, in order to pass they need to fight the criminals at least they need to get 3-4 pts to pass phase 3. First who fought is Kurapika vs. The guy named Shiro who was being accused being a murderer. When they started to fight Kurapika was no match for him and so Kurapika admitted defeat. Next one who battled is Gon vs. Sedokan who was accused of being a former serial bomber, he was wasn't good in actual combat and so he bought 2 candles one is short and the other is long. There battle is just simple the one whose candle goes out will lose. Then they started Gon chose the long for being so simple-minded and Sedokan has the short one. He has actually prepared 4 candles so whichever Gonchooses, it will be the first one to burn quickly. And before Gon's candle can go out, he blows out Sedokan's candle, declaring Gon the winner. The next prisoner who will battle is Majitani who was repeatedly accused for being a fraud and a blackmailer. During the events in the third phase of the Hunter Exam, Megumi volunteered to fight against Majitani. He shows off his tattoos, especially the spider. Megumi proves that it is a fake; members of the Troupe have their member number engraved onto the spider. She also states that they have killed too many people to keep track of the record. And then she told Majitani never to mention about the troupe ever again. Majitani becomes the focus of a subsequent confrontation as both sides wager hours in order to conclude the battle in accordance to the rules. Next one is Leorio vs. Leroute is the fourth prisoner to fight in Trick Tower. She goes against Leorio, but their match is actually a series of bets. After manipulating Leorio, she wins the match and Leorio's team loses 50 hours in the process. Her sentence is also reduced by 50 years. Next one who fought is Mai vs. Bendot. Before they could start, Mai almost gave up but if she gives up she wouldn't be able to do what her father told her before and so she won. Last but not the least Killua vs. Johness the fate of the challenge falls on Killua. He is paired with Johness, much to Leorio's alarm when he recognizes him, and he strongly advises Killua to back down. Leorio tells the group of Johness' fearsome reputation as a bloodthirsty mass murderer and his extreme methods of dismembering his victims with his bare hands. This is ignored however, and the two combatants enter the arena platform. The object of the challenge is simple, a deathmatch. As Johness is still talking of how he is going to tear Killua's body to pieces, Killua lunges forward in the blink of an eye and plucks Johness' heart clean out of his chest. Johness quickly realizes what has just transcended and pleads for Killua to give his heart back. Plea ignored, Killua crushes the heart in his hand. Johness is left quivering and twitching on the floor in his final moments before dying. This grants the examinees a pass through the section, and onto the challenges awaiting them in the race against time to get to the base of the tower. And on that time Megumi knew that Killua has the same assassin attacks as her. Because of the bet Leorio and the others must stay in a room for 50 hours as their punishment. Killua got mad at Megumi for not killing Majitani, this made Megumi almost killed Killua but she stopped and apologized "sorry I lost my cool.." And left them alone and talked to herself "that guy.. Reminds me of someone I used to know..". At night time everyone else is asleep except for Killua still thinking about what happened awhile ago he told himself "that girl really reminds me of the girl I've met before..Atleast she became a lot cuter" then he slept. The next day they waited for the next 24 hours. And the next day they finally got to go out of the room but they were the last ones who pass.
