The dawn sun peeked through a hazy screen of clouds, painting the sky an elaborate mix of bloodied reds and vibrant oranges. I rolled over to face the ceiling, surprised at how early it was. I am not a morning person, at all. I stretched, shoving my blanket aside, as my feet came in contact with my favourite fuzzy carpet. I grabbed my towel and headed to my bathroom for a nice hot shower. I turned the water on medium as i closed my eyes, the heat soaking in. Thousands of lukewarm drops, trickled down my body. I remained in the shower for as long as i desired before stepping out. I picked out a sweater, black leggings along with a pair of my everyday converse sneakers, gathering my long black hair into a high messy bun. I swept a few coats of mascara on my eyelashes, and added some gloss on my lips.

I peeped into my mother's bedroom to find her asleep after what seems like a long night of partying. I sighed and proceeded to take the house keys from her beside table. I locked the gate, before walking aimlessly around the streets. I had no idea where i was going as i plugged my earphones on to immense myself into my music. I turned into castle street to grab a cup a coffee from the best cafe around, The Hideout. " Good Morning Luna!", exclaimed Susan, as she peered from the register. Grinning, she immediately got to work, brewing my usual order- Double Espresso. My fingers curled around the cup, relishing the warm sensation."Thank you Susan!" as i paid for the coffee before leaving. I took a sip of my espresso as i wondered where i should head next. I was feeling rather pressured and wanted to have a peace of mind. The perfect place struck my mind ; the library.

The cold air sent a shiver down my spine, as i stepped into the heaven of books. I have always loved reading ; known to let your imagination run wild. Row after row of neatly lined up books with their spines facing outward, muffled stillness and hushed atmosphere. Bound in black and gold leather, was a volumised book stacked in the highest shelf of the restriction corner. It was alluring. I made my way towards it, totally unaware that i had loosened the queue control barrier. " What are you doing here?" I turned around to find a woman in her mid thirties, with her arms across her chest, glaring at me. My eyes wandered to her badge pinned horizontally on the left of her uniform. Amy, Librarian. "Sorry." I gave her a wry smile and strolled away in the opposite direction. I took a glimpse at the book before sighing in despair, realising how close i was to getting it.
