Truth #17: "One day, I'm going to marry you."
It was a Monday morning, a few weeks after Harry's divorce was finalized, and although Draco normally felt like shit on Mondays, he felt particularly good on this day. Maybe it was the shining of the sun, maybe it was the chirping of the birds, or maybe it was the beautiful man named Harry Potter that brought his mood up, but Draco felt alive.
He walked through the halls with a spring in his step. He said hello to any familiar students that he walked past. It was a good day for Mr Malfoy, who was on the way to Mr Potter's classroom instead of his own. The students never asked Draco about him and Harry, but both teachers knew that it was quite obvious. After all, when two people are in love, they practically glow with it.
Draco reached Harry's classroom door and knocking twice before coming in. "Hello, darling!" He greeted joyfully as he entered the room. Harry was sitting at his desk, as gorgeous as ever, and his glasses were on his head instead of over his eyes. Seeing Harry sitting at his desk, Draco knew that his good mood most likely had something to do with this man.
Harry looked up and smiled at Draco. "Woah, you're in a good mood today! What's the occasion?"
Instead of replying, Draco simply walked up to Harry and kissed him on the lips, softly and sweetly. They've been together for just over a month, and Draco still couldn't get enough of Harry's kisses.
"I just love you a lot," Draco mumbled against his lips before breaking away. He brought a hand up and caressed Harry's cheek, taking notice of those tiny freckles and the crinkles at the corners of his eyes. He was beautiful, and he was Draco's.
Harry smiled, and his face glowed with it. "I love you a lot too," he said, "but I still don't get why you're in such a good mood. Did you finally take the stick out of your ass?"
Draco couldn't even fake being offended, so he just laughed and shoved Harry, who was still sitting in his chair. Draco looked at the man before him, who was also laughing slightly, and realized that he never wanted this to end.
"You wanna go somewhere?" He asked, wanting nothing more than to spend a bit more time with Harry.
Harry just raised an eyebrow. "Class starts in like 20 minutes, Dray," he said, and Draco just grinned.
"So? Personal days exist for a reason. Are you sure you don't have a doctor's appointment, Mr Potter?" He joked with a grand smile. Harry rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone, quickly dialling the number to the school and calling in sick.
While he did so, Draco continued to observe him, trying to memorize his every feature. He never wanted to forget what Harry looked like. He was so incredibly beautiful in every sense and God, he deserved the world.
"One day, I'm going to marry you," Draco mumbled softly under his breath, wanting to say the words but not wanting Harry to hear him.
Harry, who just hung up, heard the small mumble. "What? I didn't catch that," he said, putting his phone back in his pocket.
Draco smiled genuinely. "Nothing. Now, what about some gummy bears?" He asked, wanting to treat his boyfriend to his favourite treat, because he deserved only the best.
Harry stood quickly and pecked Draco on the lips before hurrying towards the door. "Hurry the fuck up, then!" He yelled over his shoulder.
Draco followed him out. They walked down the halls and received too many knowing glances from students but they didn't care. They got in Draco's rather shitty car and drove all the way to Dollarama and beyond. They made jokes along the way and shoved each other and held each other's hands.
They were nothing less than a perfect match. They were so different yet so understanding of each other. Harry finally found someone to love, and Draco finally found happiness.
And driving down the road with his boyfriend, who was singing rather horridly, Draco finally realized what love truly meant. Love was shoving and teasing, love was stealing kisses and sneaking glances, love was comforting each other and making jokes. Love was wanting the best for the other and wanting to make them happy. Love was realizing how fucking lucky you are to have them.
To Draco, love was Harry Potter himself, and he would have it no other way.
