As the tiny snowflakes gently fell to the ground, we heard the delighted cries of the children. Collin sat up, so I did, too.

"Wow," Collin finally said. "The first snow."

We sat for what seemed like hours, letting the snow fall on us, giving us each a cold white coat. I shivered, partly because of the snow, but also with delight at the beautiful scene in front of me; children playing happily as snow fell to the ground.

"Oh, are you cold?" Collin asked as soon as he noticed I was shivering. "Here, take my sweatshirt."

I accepted it gratefully, and immediately put it on.

"We better go before we freeze," Collin said. We stood up and brushed ourselves off, then headed home.

We walked in silence. When we reached our starting point, in the middle of our houses, I started to take off Collin's jacket.

"No, no, it's okay. Give it to me at school on Monday, it's no big deal. Besides, it looks better on you," Collin explained with a smile.

I blushed and replied, "Thanks. See you tomorrow?"

"Yeah, if you'll let me sit with you on the bus," Collin answered.

"Anytime," I said.

"Well... bye."

"Bye."

We turned to go to our houses. Secretly, I wished for five more minutes with Collin. Little did I know, he was wishing for the exact same thing.
