Maggy Thomas takes her hand in Lorcan Scamander's as they jump out of the Hogwarts Express both excited to start their seventh year, both fashioning Ravenclaw robes that are black with blue and bronze cords trimming the fabric. They head off the the carriages.

James Sirius Potter steps out bracing himself for his sixth year, his Gryffindor robe flapping in the wind blowing through Hogsmeade. His little sister Lily tackles him from behind overly excited for her first year. He allows her to cling to his back like a baby monkey attaches itself to a parent. "Watch your grip Lil." He warns as her arms thread around his throat.

Alice Longbottom takes her little sister's hand, Marie in her first year while Alice is a confident 3rd year in Hufflepuff, and Frank in Gryffindor. All Longbottoms' curious as to where Marie will end up.

Then Marie and Lily leave their siblings to go on the boats while the rest journey in the carriages.

"Hello Alice." James kindly greets, they saw each other not a week ago in Diagon Alley when their parents took them shopping for their school supplies.

"James. How are you?" She kindly smiles as the carriage juts on the road.

"Fine. What pet did you decide to bring this year?" He asks knowing that Alice has a zoo of pets magical and mundane.

"My owl Minx. She's a snowy owl with two different colored eyes, she also hunts rats better than my cat Lumous." Alice smiles. "Did you bring Thadius?" She asks about his screech owl.

"Indeed. He's gone into a phase of biting those he doesn't know though." James frowns and suddenly the ride is over. They and the other two second year Slytherins step out and make their way to the Great Hall.

Lily and the other first years stand in an empty corridor as they wait for the Assistant Head Master to take them to the Great Hall to be sorted into their new houses. Lily spots Marie and skips over to her side. "Hello Marie. Are you excited?" Lily asks gleefully.

"I suppose. But more nervous than excited." Marie confesses as she plays with the sleeve of her robe.

"There's nothing to worry about. Any house is lucky to have you. And if we're in the same house you already have one friend. Now let's see a smile." Lily says trying to cheer Marie up. She's always wanted another sister and Marie seems to be the perfect fit. Marie shyly smiles.

"There it is. Now which house do you want to be in. I'm hoping for Gryffindor like James, but I'll settle for Hufflepuff if that's an option.

"I'm not sure. I guess I'd be fine with any really." Marie says.

"Whatever the case, you'll have so much fun. James and Albums hate admitting it, but they really do love Hogwarts." Lily beams and suddenly the Assistant Headmaster comes in and leads them to the Great Hall in all it's glory and beauty.

Maggy and Lorcan sit with their other Ravenclaw peers waiting excitedly for the first years to be sorted so they can welcome their new first years. James and Albus stare at each other from their table seats as they look nervously towards Lily. Alice waves back to Marie who looks at her nervously. And slowly they are called up in alphabetical order.

Marie called up before Lily takes cautious steps up to the sorting hat, the hat that gave her father the sword of Gryffindor to defeat Nagini, taking away the last Horcrux of Voldemort. The hat is plopped onto her head over her eyes as she awaits the event of sorting. She does here it's voice echo in her mind until it finally shouts "GRYFFINDOR!" Marie sighs and runs down to the tables to embrace her brother Frank.

Some names later it's Lily's turn and she excitedly runs up to the hat that saved her father so many times; even when both her parents were trapped in the Chamber of Secrets up against a Basilisk. A clever enchantment. He speaks to her for a very long time until it finally decides she'd be best suited in "HUFFLEPUFF!!" Lily happily joins her peers, even sits across Lysander Scamander. He gives her two thumbs up.

"All Potters in different houses. They will make for interesting Legacies." Lorcan smiles and Maggy smiles with him as their hands intertwine under the table.

"Interesting indeed."
