Mitsuko walked to school with heavy footsteps. Today would be her first day as manager and she was not prepared for it. Sighing, the girl put her earbuds in, hoping that even if only for a little while, it would take her mind off of things. Just then, a familiar orange haired boy popped into the brunette's view.
"Aoyama-san!! Good morning!"
"A-a-ah, hello..Uwah?!" Startled by his sudden presence, Mitsuko took a step backwards and tripped over her feet, splendidly falling onto the ground.
"Gah! Are you okay Aoyama-san? I'm so sorry for startling you!" He lent her his hand and she grabbed it as she stood up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks..um..."
"Ah! That's right! I didn't get a chance to introduce myself yesterday. I'm Hinata Shouyo, a first year! It's nice to meet you~" the boy said cheerfully, a large smile on his face.
"I'm Aoyama Mitsuko, but just Aoyama is fine. I'm a first year as well. I just recently transferred here. Please take care of me," she replied, giving him a small smile.
"Then just call me Hinata! Anyways, I'm really sorry about what happened yesterday, Aoyama. If I had better control, none of that would've happened," He explained shaking his head. "That reminds me... do you play volleyball? You seemed quite experienced when you spiked the ball yesterday."
"No... I only play volleyball during P.E class. There's no way I can be so experienced!" Mitsuko denied, shaking her head vigorously as a small smile on appeared on her face.
"Hmm, really? You seemed really good to me.." Hinata said, as they walked towards the lockers. "By the wa-"
"Hinata! You idiot! Stupid! Dumbass!" A loud voice interrupted. "What were you thinking of yesterday? Dumbass!"
The pair looked to the direction of where the voice came from. Standing by the lockers there was a tall, black haired boy with a stern look on his face. He seemed well-built and was quite good looking. Walking towards the boy, Hinata exclaimed in an annoyed tone. "Gah! Kageyama what was that for!"
Finally standing face to face with the boy, Hinata gestured towards Mitsuko, saying, "And stop yelling like that you'll scare off our new manager!"
At the mention of a new manager, Kageyama turned his attention to the girl. Looking at his face up close, Mitsuko realized he was even more handsome than she originally thought. After exchanging greetings they went their separate ways as they headed towards class.
Mitsuko entered the classroom, hooking her bag on the side of the desk. Laying her head down, she started to think.
As much as she dreaded to go to the club, she wasn't going to lie, a part of her - the old her was excited to go. 'But what if this team betrayed me like the last?' she thought. The girl shook her head. Judging from who she's met, they seemed like nice people. And besides, she wouldn't be playing this time around... There's no way history could repeat. But what if they did find out? What would she do then?
As her thoughts began going into circles, the ball rang, signalling the beginning of class.
--
"Everyone! Gather around!" The captain yelled. The team ran towards him, forming a semi circle around him. "Meet our new manager. She's joining us due to err.. special reasons," He said as he stepped aside, gesturing to Mitsuko.
