In the city of Boken, there is a house which is owned by a 27 year-old man named Quentin Jordan. Quentin flinches at the distressed and loud curses in German and Scottish. He quickly rushes into the living room to find his 15 year-old niece death-staring a cardboard box. Puzzled, he asks, "Skylar, what's wrong?"

"The school sent us all uniforms! This is stupid!" she exclaims, opening the package. The package contained two white collared shirts; one short-sleeved, one long-sleeved. Two sweater vests that came in the colors of black and red, they both had the silver small patch of a dragon's head on the right. There were also two pairs of nice black pants, in case a girl would not want to wear the two skirts, which were both red plaid. The set was completed with two bow ties, one red and one black, and finally a black jacket with the same silver patch of the dragon's head on the right. Quentin is still a bit confused. "Um... well at least they gave you some options, right?"

Skylar shakes her head, "Not really," then she hands him a letter. The letter addresses that in the seasons of Winter and Fall, students are required to wear the black sweater vest, the long-sleeved collar shirt, and the red ties (boys have the option of a bow tie or neck tie). In the seasons of Spring and Summer, students are required to wear the long-sleeved collar shirt, the red sweater vest, and the black ties. "Is it too early to drop out?"

Upon hearing this, Quentin becomes slightly furious. "Listen here, young lady, that type of attitude is not acceptable. Don't give up so easily, Skylar! More things are to come during your high school years, good and bad. Trust me, I was a lot like you when I was in high school..."

As her uncle continues to ramble on about his high school days, Skylar's mind wanders off to her left arm. She rolls up her sleeve to reveal what looks like a birthmark or burned scar, as if it was burned into her arm. It is a symbol in what is presumed to be Japanese.

But what does it mean? This symbol... I've had it ever since--

"Skylar Hayley Jordan!" the voice of her uncle brings her back from her thoughts about the symbol. Skylar flinches at the sudden voice, turning her head to Quentin. "What?"

"Were you even paying attention to what I was telling you?" Quentin questions his niece. In response, Skylar lowers her head, shaking it, as if saying "No."

Her uncle sighs but smiles, "Hey, don't sweat it. As for the uniforms, you might want to put them in your closet and then we can burn the skirts later," he jokes. A small spark appears in her eyes, with a confused yet amused expression plastered on her face. Then she just goes back to viewing the symbol burned into her left arm. Wondering how she got it, and why it was specifically shaped like that. A frown appears on her face. "Uncle Quentin, do you know where I got this mark from? I mean, the only thing I remember about it is that when it first appeared on my arm, it burned into my skin."

He raises an eyebrow and makes his way over to the girl. He plops down on her left and examines her left arm. What in the...? He traces over the scar gently, which causes the hazel-eyed teen to wince in slight pain. Where have I seen this before? It's in Japanese. I know it means something special, but I can't remember, he says in his thoughts. "Honestly haven't got a clue, kiddo. I think I've seen it before, but I can't remember what it meant. Something special, I believe."

Skylar tilts her head in confusion, "Special?" In response, she gets a nod. "Yeah. Some of our ancestors had that same symbol."

"I am nothing equivalent to special," the girl states while frowning. "Nothing but a disgrace, that is."

Quentin sighs, There she goes again. "Skylar, come on, don't be like this."

She just mutters something in Scottish before trudging slowly upstairs to her bedroom. Quentin watches her, his expression filled with sorrow and pity for the girl. I'm guessing she's starting to detect some of her memories...
