Chapter 6 Inside the Truck

{Luke's POV}

I carried Clementine to a nearby log. She sat down and lift her wounded leg to me. I fixed up her leg. Clementine was holding AJ. AJ is still sleeping.

Can't believe some people tired to kidnap her. Or worse, try to kill her. I thought I lost her.

That night while taking care of AJ and kept watch. It was a quiet night. When I go check on Clementine, she was gone. I search everywhere for her. My heart beats fast. Then going faster when you're on the rollar coaster is going up the top of the rail and goes down super fast that you want to scream. That's when I thought she was gone forever. My heart broken when I kapt thinking of her. Then today I saw her. She had a dark bruise on her bottom lip, and a scratch mark across her cheek. Also, when I see her stitched arm, her D hat, and her golden eyes.

After a long moment in silence next to the fire. I decided to go fishing again.

I carried Clementine and AJ to the river. She sat down on the log. She hold AJ. Clementine make silly faces, snuggle, and tickle AJ.

I hadn't caught anything for like maybe two hours.

Then I hear beeps. Sounds like a car or a truck.

"Stay here," I say. "Watch AJ."

"Okay," Clementine says.

I run toward the sound. It was a truck. Two walkers stand next to the truck. I pull out my machete and sliced their heads.

I open the truck's door. There's boxes of food, medicine, water, and ammo. I look around for anyone who's here. I went inside. I grab some ammo, food, water, and medicine. The sound of the back truck closed. I turn. a man with tattoos across his forehead.

I pull out my machete. He pulled out his pocket knife. I tried to hit him and he tried to hit me. I dodged, he dodged. I was next to the truck's door. The sound of the truck door opened. Someone hit me in the head.

Everything turned black.

I woke up from a bump on the road. Clementine's head laying on my shoulder. AJ looked terrified. Clementine's eyes are closed. I hold AJ. I made a silly face at him. He smiled.

Clementine eyes are wide open.

"Where are we," she asked.

"Inside a truck," I replied.

There was a long silence. AJ smile turned to a frown.

"Clem," AJ says.

His first word. Clementine and I smile.

"Goofball," Clementine says. "You just said your first word." Clementine still smiling.

AJ hugged Clementine. He pointed something round and colorful.

"B-Ball," AJ says.

I grab the ball for AJ. He played with Clementine while we wait.

AJ said two words. Clementine and I are really proud of him.

{Clementine's POV}

I played with AJ. I'm so proud of AJ saying two words.

I wish Kenny was here. He'll be so proud of him too. I missed him. I also missed Lee.

I missed both of them.
