[12] Echo Flowers

Sans POV

I don't think the hum- I mean (Y/N) was aware of it, but she was still clearly upset about the story of her brother.

"UM... HUMAN, WHY DON'T YOU GO LIE DOWN?! MY BROTHER AND I CAN HANDLE THE REST!!"

"Huh? But I..."

"DON'T WORRY, FOR I, THE MAGNIFICENT, SANS WILL MAKE THIS MY BEST QUICHE YET!!"

(Y/N) lightly giggled then nodded her head in agreement.

"I suppose... I do feel a little tired... I'll go rest on the couch."

(Y/N) smiled cheerfully but was very careful walking around Paps, watching the knife in his hand with great fear.

"*SIGH*"

"Thanks, bro, the kid really need to take a break."

"YES... BUT I WON'T LET HER ABSENCE GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE LAZY!! MWEH HEH HEH!!"

Normal POV

I walked into the living room and sat on the couch. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in then out slowly.

I can't believe how talking about that still makes me so scared after everything I faced...

I guess it's different when its someone you love being hurt and in danger, than yourself.

*sigh*

I opened my eyes and saw Sans right in front of my face.

"AH!"

"AH!"

I swear Sans jumped back almost five feet in the air. 

"HUMAN!! YOU MUST NOT SHOUT LIKE THAT SO SUDDENLY!"

"S-sorry! I just wasn't expecting you to be in my face!"

"WELL, I CALL OUT TO YOU MANY TIMES BUT YOU DIDN'T RESPOND... YOU MUST HAVE BEEN IN DEEP THOUGHT."

"... yeah I suppose so."

I looked down thinking again.

"HEY! THE QUICHE IS DONE WHY DON'T WE EAT SOME."

Sans was smiling brightly at me. I could tell that he was trying to comfort me in his own silly, cute way.

"Sure, Sans."

Paps POV

"Come on, Paps! Please!!" (Y/N) was looking at me with big puppy dog eyes, but I wasn't going to fall for it.

"(Y/N) I'm only saying no to protect you, you get that right?"

"Of course I do!! But!! I have been through much worst!"

"LIKE WHAT HUMAN?!" 

"Umm... like... ugh..." I could tell (Y/N) was having a hard time trying to come up with something, so I caved.

"*Sigh* Fine. You can go to Waterfall. But, no farther!  And if you see Alphys ran away as fast as you can, you understand?"

"*Gasp* Yes, Yes Totally!! Thanks Paps you're the best!!" (Y/N) looked so happy, I couldn't help but smile with her.

Normal POV

"No problem, Kiddo."

Paps was smiling kindly at me and I was glad. But, I'm a bit worried that he is only being protective cause he feels guilty... you know from before?  I don't want him to feel bad... he was only doing what he thought was best.

I decided not to worry about it, for now.

I looked down at myself, seeing all my clothes ripped to pieces was not something I cared for.

"I need new clothes..."

"OH, I KNOW WHERE TO GET SOME!"

"Yeah, right by the- I-i mean could you show me the way?" I almost slipped up.

"I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER! I, THE MAGNIFICENT SANS, WILL BE YOUR GUIDE!!"

"Oh, Sans you don't have to bother yourself with me."

"NO BOTHER AT ALL HUMAN!"

I looked over to Paps in hope of some help but he got a wide sly grin.

"That sounds like a great idea! You could help her through Waterfall too, you know just in case someone tries to capture her before you do."

"*GASP!* YOU'RE RIGHT BROTHER!" I glared at Paps.

"Thanks, Paps super helpful as always."

"I aim to serve."

"LET'S GET GOING HUMAN!!" With that Sans grabbed my hand and we were gone.

{Timeskip}

Sans POV

"What do you think?" (Y/N) was standing before me in a simple white shirt tugged into a beautiful shade of blue skirt, that kinda matched my scarf, black legging, and little blue combat boots to match.

"UM..."

"What you don't like it?"

"NO! I LOVE IT!! YOU REALLY LOOK CUTE!" Oh no! Why did I say that?! "I M-MEAN- I DIDN'T- UGH..."

"Thanks, Sans, that's really sweet." (Y/N) is gently smiling at me... she doesn't look upset or annoyed...

"Come on Sans let's get going!"

"O-OF COURSE!" I grabbed (Y/N)'s hand again and ran off towards Waterfall.

Normal POV

"HERE WE ARE WATERFALL."

I looked around at the gorgeous blue rivers and echo flowers all around us.

"Wow, it's amazing!" Just as I remember it.

"HEY! WANT TO SEE SOMETHING COOL?"

"Sure!"

"AWESOME! COME HERE!!"

Sans lead me to a echo flower that stood by itself.

"LISTEN TO IT." I thought it would be fun to play dumb for a moment.

"Listen to it? You mean the flower?" I said with a questioning look on my face.

"JUST TRUST ME!"

"I always do, Sans." I walk over to the echo flower and leaned in.

The echo flower said in Sans voice, "I'M GLAD I MET YOU, HUM- (Y/N)."

I was a bit surprised at first but then I smiled warmly at the flower and whispered something back.

"W-WHAT DID YOU TELL IT?!"

"Why don't you go find out?"

Sans looked hesitated at first but walked over to the flower leaned in then quickly stood up. He looked at me then down blushing a blue as the water.

I giggled with joy, all I told it was:

"I'm glad I met you too Sans. Thanks for being super cool, I'll always be your #1 fan!"
