Can I Stay? (Underswap!Sans × Reader)

[21] Just A Little Rain

Days went by filled with happiness and joy.

I met many new monsters who were just as kind as the rest. I even was 'Lucky enough to be in the presents of the fabulous Napstablook,' as he put it. Apparently, he is the biggest star in the underground, even though he is really the only star and a huge flirt! Sans didn't even notice when we first met him, he was so starstruck meeting him, it wasn't until later he was brought light of the situation. He kept seeking my touch when I had to reassure him Napstablook was not my type. It was actually really cute seeing him so jealous, him being completely unaware, of course.

Sans and I were doing great! We are taking things slow, so far only hand-holding and kissing, not even that much of kissing, like just a light tap upon my lips. Still, we take walks, solve puzzles, cook together, I would tease him with jokes/puns, and much more. 

Every day is nice, but I found myself wanting more with Sans and in the underground because I'm still bumming on the skeleton-bro's couch. I knew if I wanted to seriously stay here I need to start pulling my own weight.  

That's how today came to be...

"A JOB?"

"Yeah, I can't mooch off you guys forever."

"Nah kiddo, you don't have to worry about that."

"Sure... but I need my own income for like clothes and stuff, even if Sans' clothes are super comfy."

"OH, I CAN GO SHOPPING WITH YOU!"

Okay, I'm reaching my breaking point here, I can't be a couch potato all my life...

I take a big gulp of air and prepare myself to be embarrassed, "R-really? You're going to buy me underwear too?"

Sans' and Paps' faces changed colors, causing me to laugh the redness off my heated cheeks.

"Hehe, see? This is only one of the reasons I need a job."

"Okay kid, I see your point. Let's go on a walk."

"CAN I GO?"

"Don't you have training with Alphys today?"

"OH MY! YOU'RE RIGHT!" Sans gave me a quick peck on the cheek and rush out the door waving me and Paps goodbye.

"BYE, BROTHER! BYE HUMAN!"

Then he was gone.

"*Sigh*"

"You okay, kiddo?"

"Yeah... I just wish Sans would call me by my name."

"Heh, heh."

"What?"

"Nothing, kid."

Paps walked out of the still opened door with his hands in his pockets, towards the inner part of Snowdin where all the shops are. I followed.

"Wait! What is it?"

"Nothing, just crazy how a few days ago everything was so... complicated. But, now your biggest problem is, 'Why isn't my super cute boyfriend calling me by my name?'"

My face heated up as Paps spoke in a high voice mocking me, "I-I didn't say it like that!"

"Might as well have."

"Whatever!" I said then stuck my tongue out at him.

"Heh, real mature, kiddo."

"*Gasp!*" I grabbed Paps hand making him stop, pulling at his hoodie so he bent down to my level then took a hold of his head/skull.
