Walking down the street to get to town. Alex speaks up after the 5/10 minutes of silence between us.

"Sis." Stopping at a stop sign, I look both ways before crossing. Finally on the other side of the sidewalk, I respond to Alex.

"Yeah."

"Do you miss mommy?" Alex asked, stopping I look down at his short 4'2 frame.

"Why do you ask?" I questioned, trying to not let my voice crack at the mention of my mother...our mother.

"Just asking." Swallowing the lump in my throat, I pull Alex's hand to continue walking.

"I do miss her..." Pausing what I was about to say, I tighten the hold of my sweater with my free hand.

"Do you?" I asked Alex his question.

"Yeah...where did she go again?" Alex asked.

"Heaven." I clarified.

"Is that far?"

"Not if you don't think it is." He stopped asking questions after that. But he did something that makes me love him more than ever. Stopping Alex let go of my hand and hugged my lower hip area.

"I love you sis, please never leave me." Sucking in a shaky breath, I picked hip up and gave him the biggest hug I've ever given him.

"I love you too bud." Letting go of my neck, which somehow he managed to wrap around my neck. Alex pulls away to be at face level with me. Looking at him in his brown eyes I wipe a stray tear that manages to slip from his eyes.

"I'll never leave you, buddy your the best thing that has ever happened to be, I love you I don't know what I would be doing if you haven't been brought into my life." Pausing I look away to let out a cough.

"Ok no more crying. Let's go get some ice cream huh."

"Yay ice cream. NO vanilla right?" Alex asked, Kissing his chubby pale cheek I say.

"No vanilla buddy." Returning the kiss Alex asks me to put him back down. Putting him down, Alex grabs hold of my hand this time him leading the way.

"Um Alex."

"Yes."

"Do you know where you're going?" I asked. Thinking for a while he responds.

"No." he said confident, still leading the way.

"Alright buddy how about I lead the way." I said, turning a corner.

"Ok." With what felt forever, but was really only a few more blocks down. Alex and I finally made it to the entrance of town. Actually seeing the town in person and not just from a car window by a drive by it's absolutely stunning. All the statues, the old Victorian buildings, and the legends , and also the history behind the town is breathtaking. Walking down the brick fall streets, I see kids in their coats running around having a great time. Men and women walking holding hands, people sitting down in a coffee shop chatting with one another.

"Sis." Alex's voice brings me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah."

"Where's ice cream?" Alex asked with a questionable expression.

"We're almost there buddy...we just have to find one." I clarified.

"Ok." Going further down the sidewalk, I spot an ice cream parlor.

"I found one come on." I said dragging Alex down the street. Walking to the entrance of the ice cream shop, Alex opens the door. Being the gentlemen my parents raised him to be Alex lets me go in first.

"Why thank you my good man." I said, in my best British voice I could master, laughing Alex walked in behind me.

"Your welcome." Going in front of me he goes to look at the many different variety of ice cream choices. Stepping aside from the entrance/exit of the door, I pull out my phone checking if my dad has called. Not seeing any missed calls, or texts I turn off my phone putting it back in my back right pocket.

Before I could walk to Alex- who was calling my name- I heard a rumbling noise coming from outside of the silent, easy, peaceful street. Turning around fully I glance towards the big window facing it. I see a herd of 5 to 6 motorcycles driving further up the street. Stopping at the stop light, a black motorcycle caught my interest. Being the one ahead of the group...made him stand out more.

'Hey must be the leader.' I thought to myself. Somehow knowing eyes were on him, he turned towards my direction. Pulling up the protector covering his eyes on his helmet. Being far from him, his blue green eyes met my brown ones. Staring at each other for what felt for the longest time. The stop light turned green, he covered his eyes again and put his attention back ahead in front of him. Roaring their engines back to life, some how snapped me out of my thoughts. Shaking my head I looked back at the now empty road, only a single car cruising through.

Not believing that they left I stayed standing there until I heard someone calling my name again. Turning around I saw Alex standing there with a waffle cone with three scoops of ice cream, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, and chocolate. Seeing ice cream smeared all of his face, and dripping down his white pale hand onto the ice cream parlor floor. Laughing I made my way towards him.

" Alex, buddy you're dripping it on the floor." I said, grabbing some napkins off the gray steel counter. Kneeling in front of him and I wipe the almost dried up ice cream off the floor.

"Sorry." Alex said in an apologetic tone.

"It's fine kiddo we'll clean it up later don't worry about it." I heard the worker say. Getting up I throw away the used dirty napkins.

"Thanks." I said walking back to Alex.

"No problem." Looking up I finally get to have a good look at the cashier. She's tall, medium long blonde curly hair, light blue eyes, and tan/white skin.

"HI I'm Nikki." She said sticking her hand out towards me.

"Brianna but you could call me Brie." I said shaking her hand.

"You're new here huh?" She asked.

"Is it that obviously." I said shyly.

"Yeah...it's a small town mostly everyone here knows each other."

"Sis I need napkin!" Alex interrupted.

"Oh here." I said handing him a couple napkins. Quickly looking at Alex and the ice cream he was holding. I forgot to pay for it.

"I totally forgot..." I muttered, pulling out the 50 dollars dad gave me.

"How much was it?" I asked.

"It's on the house." Nikki clarified, pushing my hand way that held the money.

"Oh no...let me pay for it."

"It's fine consider it as a welcome gift." Nikki reassured me again pushing my hand way.

"Thanks." Putting the money back in my pocket, I gave Nikki a smile.

"No problem...so how have you been liking the town?" She asked, wiping off the counter.

"It's a lot different then where I'm from, but overall I think it's a nice little, quiet town."

"Yeah it's better than all those big, busy, loud, cities I always hear about." Nikki
confused.
"Yeah..." Looking at the clock on the bright pink pastel walls I see it's almost 7.

"Alex buddy...come on it's getting late dad's not going to buy us pizza if we're late." I said, finishing his ice cream cone fast of what's left of it, Alex rushes towards me grabbing my hand in his little tan/pale one.

"Come on sis we have to go home for pizza." Alex stated more than said.

"Ok...ok calm down buddy you're going to hurt yourself if you don't slow down." Slowing down, Alex dragged me all the way to the exit.

"Bye!" Nikki shouted, while waving. Mouthing bye and waving to her before Alex dragged me all the way out. Walking back the way we came, we made it home in 10-15 minutes.
