The Sting Of It.

It shouldn't have stung the way it did.

It shouldn't have stung to see her leave, not after everything she did.

But it stings, it hurts to see her with him, so soon after everything.

He tries to ignore it.

He really does.

But a time comes when he snaps, when he can't bear the stress of it anymore. A time when somewhere in his mind, something breaks.

He just can't take it anymore. He can't.

Maybe it happens when she leaves the man she left him for.

Maybe it happens when she calls him out of the blue, asking to get together at a bar on Sunday.

Maybe it just happens because of his own mind.

Whatever the reason, he's on the ledge.

Looking down.

And suddenly, he's not just looking down, he's going down.

So he lets his eyes close.

Last thoughts?

It stung more than it should have.
