Finally... It was time for my most favourite lessons of all: Physical Training!
Let's see, you might've guessed by now, I'm the clever, athletic type of girl who gets straight As and tops in any subject she cares about, and PT was one of my favourites. Its the subject where I get to take all my anger out on my opponent and basically just relieve some stress. And believe me, I needed to relieve some stress. Ash had kept on with the embarrassing comments the whole day, making me blush harder in one day than I've possibly ever blushed in my entire life! I needed a break!
I led him to the changing room (yes, there is only one, but there are separate cubicles where we can change privately) and opened a cubicle, setting down my PT bag as I did so. Sure, in this lesson I would have to explain our training system and tutor him one-on-one before he got good enough to join classes, but I was looking forward to an excuse to kick his butt... just joking, I would never get such violent thoughts. I was just having a bad day.
I stepped outside my cubicle.
"Ready for this?" I asked, pulling my wavy, red hair back into a ponytail.
When there was no reply, I looked up... to see his chocolatey-caramel eyes burning their way up and down my body slowly. But I was too stunned to say anything, because Ash looked... hot. Our PT uniform consisted of a tight black full-sleeved top and full black leggings for girls, and a tight-fitting black t-shirt with crumpled black cargo trousers for boys. And the fitted black shirt outlined his muscles, making me stare even harder.
He had muscles, but in exactly the way I liked them. More well-toned, defined and chiselled than bulky. With his long legs, he towered above me by quite a bit (ok, I just stated the obvious there) and his arms were strong, but not too muscly. He wasn't the broad-shouldered either, so he had more of the lean, strong and fit kind of look than the broad, bulky and muscly kind of look. Like I said, the type of look that I liked a lot...
"Only when you're done staring," he replied, answering my previous question with a small smirk.
"I wasn't staring like that, I was just... sizing you up as an opponent," I defended myself, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.
"Soooooo... that's your way of saying you were checking me out again," he stated bluntly.
"No way! You know what, I don't even know why I'm bothering with this," I said, feeling the irritation slowly creeping back up. I pushed it down before I got annoyed at him again.
"Here." I tossed him a small, transparent plastic packet, containing a pair of fingerless black gloves.
"What are these for?" He asked, slipping the gloves on.
"I'll explain later," I said, rolling my eyes. "Just follow me for now."
I led him to the first gym.
"In case you aren't already aware, I'm going to be tutoring you in PT until you've caught up with the work from our classes." I saw him open his mouth slightly to say something and cut him off. "And yes, that means not only during PT lessons you'll have to do extra work after school, before school, whenever you get the time."
"But doesn't that mean you'll be left behind on your lessons too?"
"No. I'm good at PT - I'll be able to catch up easily," I said with a small smile. He was cute when he thought about people other than himself. "Now shall we begin?"
He nodded.
"PT is divided into three parts: elemental training with our powers, combat training without weapons and combat training with weapons."
