Chapter 3

[Paisley]

"Who says I'm hiding from something?" I said looking up into his golden eyes. I don't know if I should tell him about Drew  I don't want to break the alliance we just made with his pack.

He cocked his head to the side looking at me. "So," He trailed off, "you want me to believe that we came out to woods for fun?" He knew I was lying.

"What if I said I couldn't tell you why we had to meet out here?" I spoke looking out  towards the boarder I didn't want anyone sneaking up on us.

His lips formed a tight line "Paisley I would like to know why my mate can't accept me Infront of her own Alpha especially when you are third in command." He knew something was up with Drew but how could I tell him, oh yeah so my Alpha has the hots for me because he used black magic to find out his mate was dead and now he needs a luna. For some reason that seemed like a bad idea so I just shrugged and looked at him.

"You need to tell me it has something to do with Drew doesn't it, what has he done?" He crossed his arms over his chest.

"Besides potentially starting a war with the hunters nothing much." I spoke picking at my nails.

"Don't be difficult tell me now or I'll go ask myself." He was getting angry.

I could not have him ask Drew if he did Drew would know he was my mate I don't even wanna know what he would do. "Fine." I said throwing my hands in the air he was going to find out one way or another and I'd rather him hear it from me. Drew would probably turn it all around on me if he told Emmet.

"He has been coming onto me since he found out his mate was dead." I mumbled to which Emmets eyes went dark.

"What do you mean by that Paisley you aren't rejecting me." He spoke power dripping from every word. I quickly waved my hands in the air backing up.

"No no I'm not trust me I'm not I don't want him he has an obsession with me I don't know why." I said quickly looking at Emmets arm muscles pulsating with how hard he was crossing them over his chest.

"You can't tell him please he would kill me." That earned a growl from Emmet, "I'll find a safer way to get out of this mess  especially with the hunters on our trail I don't want him to do anything crazy." Emmets arms loosened and he walked close to me. He wrapped his strong arms around me dipping his head into the crook of my neck I felt his warm breath on my skin. The tingles felt good.

"Paisley I can't let you stay here with him you know that." He said and I knew he was right. With the new information he had he didn't want to leave me in the hands of someone who wanted to keep me for his own. If he told Drew he would surely start a war.

His arms felt so good wrapped around me, for once I felt safe. Even if we were standing in a dangerous area.

"Emmet I can't leave he will come for me, I'd rather end it here I don't want to drag a war to your pack."  His arms tightened around my waist.

"You have until tomorrow morning I'll be here to get you okay?" He spoke his words soft it was tearing him apart to have to leave me here.

"I'll be ready." I spoke turning away from him I walked back towards the pathway not looking back I knew if I did I'd run to his arms.

"London I need help." I yelled walking into her house I was met with an empty living room so I walked towards the bedroom and opened the door. What I saw would surely scar me forever I screamed and slammed the door shut

"Oh my God put a hat on the door or something my eyes are burning!" I yelled

I could hear Ryan laughing "or you could knock." The door was opened though I couldn't see it I was too busy covering my eyes with my hands.
