Killian watched her car pull out and tightened his grasp on the wheel until his knuckles turned white. He fought with himself to restrain from following her. He didn't want her to leave. Not yet.
After she left his sight, he felt a longing to see her again. His skin itched in need as he drove in the opposite direction. Slowly turning into his street he felt like he'd just discovered a new purpose in life.
On the other hand, Pia drove faster than usual when heading home. She struggled to carry the groceries while punching the numbers into the garage's keypad. She smiled satisfied when hearing the rumbling sound of it opening. She entered the garage before pressing a button to close it and heading straight to the kitchen. She picked up a medium sized black bowl and poured the cocoa puffs in it before adding milk. She grabbed a teaspoon before heading into the living room and sitting on her favorite recliner and turning on "How To Get Away With Murder". When she was satisfied with how comfortable she was, she took her first scoopful. She closed her eyes in appreciation of the taste. This was totally worth it. Who needs salad when I have cocoa puffs? She thought to herself, before thanking the man she met at the grocery store who convinced her to buy it.
The entire day Killian felt anxious and wanted to see the cocoa puffs girl, just for another second. He wanted to stand beside her and feel her warmth and smell her sweet scent tickle his senses.
He fell asleep early with thoughts of her wandering around in his mind. She entered his fantasies as he reimagined today over and over, slowly. He memorized her face, with the innocent large gray and brown eyes molding into a tantalizing color that captivated him. Then her curvy body that would fit perfectly along his, making his breath hitch. Lastly, her long brunette hair cascading in careless waves.
Killian woke up early that day and was ready to see her again. He took a cup of tea and headed straight to the grocery store's parking lot and waited for her to show up.
It had been two hours and he was still on his toes, turning around each time a car pulled into the parking lot hoping it was her. As more time passed, he grew tense. What if she didn't come today? Not everyone goes shopping every day, but what if she did?
His stomach grumbled as lunch came and went. He came to the conclusion that she wasn't coming today.
His mood contrasted yesterday's, as he felt sour all day and regretted not following her car the day before. If anything, he could've driven to her house to peek on her. He realized that he sounded a bit obsessed but didn't care.
Night fell, and he couldn't fall asleep. He prayed to see the cocoa puff girl again before popping a sleeping pill.
When he awoke the next morning, it was already 10 am. He threw on a casual hoody and brushed his teeth twice before combing his hair a little. He had a good feeling about today as he drove back to the grocery store.
He recognized her car parked in the exact same spot as the other day. Just as Killian unbuckled his seatbelt he noticed her crossing the street. He was confused until he observed the Nike duffel bag slung over her shoulder. Wasn't there a gym there? He thought to himself before jogging after her. He pulled up his hood and pretended to look down. She walked through two doors and he realized that he couldn't go any further because he didn't have a membership card.
Killian thought of ways to try and get in but realized that it was much of a risk and decided on staying outside, but it was getting increasingly cold as the rain started. He convinced himself that it would be worth it, and it most definitely was, because after almost two hours her saw her.
Droplets of sweat were trickling down the side of her face and her hair was tossed up in a high ponytail that wiped the air. She waved to someone behind the counter and sent a polite smile before, making her way to the door.
Killian prepared himself and started to walk in one place in a hidden corner after the main doors. His heart was thumping with excitement before she slammed right into him meanwhile losing the placement of her feet. He held back his smirk and was please at how well that worked.
Pia hit a wall, before falling and to her surprise being caught. Two strong arms held her. One was supporting her back, while the other wrapped around her waist, sending mixed signals throughout her body. She couldn't tell whether or not she wanted to push him away or relish in the closeness.
She looked at his face for a couple of seconds before recognizing the handsome and rugged face of the man from the cereal aisle yesterday.
Pia couldn't help herself from getting lost in his hypnotizing green and brown eyes. She noticed them flicker with joy and she subconsciously blushed before examining his deep cheekbones that she envied. Her hands wanted to roam through his thick dark hair and feel the stubble on his sculpted face. Her eyes traced the raindrops that slid down his face and disappeared under his hoody.
Pia wanted to see more.Until she jerked up and out of his arms. She was shocked at herself. How could she think of things like this?
Killian felt absent without her in his arms but tried not to show it when he noticed how horrified she looked to be. Before she left he had to start, "hey, you're the cocoa puffs girl right?" He asked.
She started to smile, "yeah and you're the guy that has life figured out."
He smirked rubbing the back of his neck. "Not yet, but if you go to coffee with me, I might." Now or never buddy.
Pia's eyes widened and she couldn't repress the shock on her face. A second ago they were being friendly, then... did he just ask her out?
Her brain responded with, absolutely not, but her heart said yes, please.
It seemed like her brain wasn't functioning, as she smiled, "Sure, tomorrow this time at the cafe across the street?"
His eyes widened in surprise like he didn't believe that she'd agreed so easily. Honestly, Pia couldn't believe it either, and it was too late when he nodded eagerly and walked away.
She stood frozen in place as her brain finally started to catch up to the rest of her body. Why had she agreed? She couldn't go!
She was already in a relationship.
