As Moonsong's paws hit the damp forest floor, she panted and looked around her. Hearing the ominous howls of her pursuers, she pressed forward. When she could no longer hear the howls, she stopped, and hung her head, panting and gasping. She was just a pup, she wasn't supposed to run for that long for another moon! Moonsong plopped down, and tears dripped down her muddied face. "Papa said alphas don't cry." she sobbed. But then again, Papa's  gone. The thought made the tears come harder. Her ears picked as she picked up a rustle in the trees around her. A voice dripping with maddness, yet still sharp, echoed around the forest. "Oh no a little pup all alone. Whatever shall she do?" Moonsong whipped her head around, searching for the source. "No mother...No father.... Oh the agony!" Insane laughter bounced off the trees. Suddenly eyes gleamed. One was sickly yellow and the other was swirled with blood, most likely due to the ragged scar running through the eye. Uneven and razor sharp teeth shone through the dark, lifted into a sneer. "Oh little pup, aren't you far from your den?" The same insane laughter followed Moonsong as she ran as fast as she could away from the snarling smile and bloody eyed monster.
