"Alright," The director said, which I learned was Danielle. "I need these people to stay back. Gregory Diaz, Milly Shapiro, Amanda, Joshua Colley, Jeremy T. Villas,  Fina Strazza, and Aidan Gemme." Danielle smiled. Josh and I looked at eachother. "Charlie Brown, or Snoopy." I said. "Lucy all the way." He responded. We laughed.

The other kids left. "Alright. I would like Joshua and Aidan both come up and sing for Snoopy." Danielle sat down. I fist-bumped Joshua and smiled at Aidan, since he was looking at both me and Josh.

"Alright. Aidan first?"

"They like me.  I think they're swell.

Isn't it remarkable
How things turn out so well?

Pleasant day, pretty sky
Life goes on, here I lie
Not bad, not bad at all.

Cozy home, board and bed
Sturdy roof beneath my head
Not bad, not bad at all.

Faithful friends
Always near me,
Bring me bones,
Scratch my ear

Little birds
Come to cheer me
Ev'ry day
Sitting here,
On my stomach
With their sharp little claws
Which are usually cold,
And occasionally painful,
And sometimes there are so many
That I can hardly stand it..."

"Thank you." Danielle interrupted. "Josh?"

Josh did good, but not as good as Aidan. He sounded really good. I'm pretty sure he's going to be Snoopy. "Amanda and Milly?" I stood up, fist-bumping Josh, glancing at Milly. She was short, with short hair. She wore rounded glasses and bright clothes. "Amanda first, please." I stepped forward.

"Do you see this tree?

it is a Fur tree.
It's called a Fur tree because it gives us fur,
For coats,
It also gives us wool in the wintertime.

This is an elm tree.
It's very little.
But it will grow up into a giant tree,
An oak.
You can tell how old it is by counting its leaves.

And way up there,
Those fluffy little white things,
Those are clouds,
They make the wind blow.
And way down there,
Those tiny little black things,
Those are bugs,
They make the grass grow.

That's right. They run around all day long, tugging and
tugging at each tiny seedling until it grows into a great
tall blade of grass.

And this thing here.
It's called a hydrant.
They grow all over,
And no one seems to know
Just how
A little thing like that
Gives so much water."

"Thank you. Milly?" I was interrupted. I glanced at Josh. He gave me a thumbs up and a smile. I smiled back. I will admit, Milly was good. Its going to be tough deciding roles for these kids. There amazing! Milly finished singing. "Great! Can I see Jeremy?" I sat back down.

"Millys good." I whispered. "Not as good as you. Your bound to get Lucy." Josh encouraged me, I shrugged.

After all of the callbacks, Danielle stood up once again. "Thank you all for coming out, The cast list will be emailed to you by Monday." Today was Friday. "Your all free to leave." I grabbed all of my stuff, and headed out with Josh following. "Do you think I can come over today? I'm free." He asked. "I'll ask my mom."

Of course I wanted him to come over. I called my mom.

"Hey sweetheart, are you done?" My mom said through the phone.

"Yeah. Can Josh come over?" I asked.

"What do you think?" I could hear her excitement.

"Yes..?"

"I'll be there in a few." She hung up.

I shut my phone off. "What did she say?" Josh asked. "Yea. Luca isn't home though. I think hes at lessons." He shrugged. "It's fine. Maybe we can record a cover?" We walked outside. "Sure."

My mom rolled up. I sat in the back with Josh, but I normally sit in the front. "Hi Mom!" Josh said. "Hi Josh, how'd auditions go?" My mom sounded more cheerful than usual. "Great! We both got callbacks." I responded. "Great!" She said. I blocked the conversation out, since I was kind of tired. We eventually made it home, hearing Luca's voice. "Since when did he come home?" I asked my mom. "He came home early. Mrs. King got sick."

I ran upstairs to my room with Josh, Luca not far behind. Its weird, because with some siblings they hate each other, but Luca is basically my best friend. He's always there for me. "So, are we going to record this cover?" I ask. "Were doing a cover?" Luca asked. "I mean, we can do an individual one, but maybe to a duet? I don't know." I walked to my closet, getting my camera, stand, lights, and mic. I set it up by my piano. "Amanda, do you know Hallelujah on piano?" Josh asked, actually a bit nervous.

I nodded. He checked himself out in the mirror before standing in back of the mic. Luca was recording, while I was playing. The timer beeped on my camera, and I starting playing.

"Well, I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

Baby, I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor (you know)
I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

There was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me, do ya?
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah"

Luca stopped the recording. I smiled at him. "Oh! Can I do Burn from Hamilton? It has to be my favorite." I smiled. "No one here knows the keys.." Luca said awkwardly. "I'll record me playing later and edit it in." I shrugged. "Girl of many talents, huh?" Josh joked. I laughed. "Luca do you want to sing something? I might change and braid my hair." Luca nudged me. "Really?" He complained. "Yes."

While I was in the bathroom, I could hear Luca singing Reluctantly. He always was the best at that song. Luca was on his last note while I walked out of the bathroom. I waited for the recording to end before I ran up and hugged him. "I'm so happy to be apart of a talented family." I waved Joshua over. We all shared a long hug.
