I instantly grabbed his briefcase close it and run inside of his house, terrified of the decision I was about to decide, the sacrifice I was about to make.
Just to save Dylan.
I place the case on the torn up couch that is in the living room, preparing to open it and make my way down the long stairs. I open it slowly and look down, all I had seen was a dark dark staircase spiraling downwards. I nervously lift up one leg, it shaking so much it almost prevented me from stepping in. I finally worked up the courage to place one leg in the case, but by the time I placed my left foot on the stairs, my fear was gone, as if it had washed away.
Staring down at the stairs that looked never ending, I called out to Dylan
"Dylan are you in here?"
And again
"Dylan!"
I called five more times until I surrendered to the fact that he was no longer on the stairs, surrendering to the fact that he was indeed, in the maze. I started down the stairs, occasionally calling out for Dylan, hoping for a call back. Finally after what felt like forever, I arrived at the bottom of the stairs. I examined the hallway that showed exactly six doors, but they were not in the order Dylan had taught me. They were in the order of brown, fur, metal, red, blue and green. Totally thrown off track I try to remember what order he told me to enter in. "It starts off with red, no. Wait brown, no". Then all of a sudden I Heard Dylan speak, "blue red brown green fur and metal". The voice said. I was unsure, but I trust Dylan so I followed what he said.
I approached the blue door, and walked in.
