Hermione Granger tapped the front of her left shoe against the cobblestones outside the vacant store near the entrance of diagon alley. Its windows were all dusty and the inside left most bare. She pressed her palm against the pane.
"Mione," Harry's voice rang through the crowd of scuttling strangers like a whistle. Familiar and clear as crystal.
Hermione frowned then sighed to turn towards him.
"We're... about to leave." Harry's voice had gotten more solemn and less self-assured since the war. He still wasn't comfortable celebrating their 'win' in the war. Not after so many losses.
Ginny Weasley stood beside him, intertwining his shakey hands with her sturdy. "You thinkin' of opening a shop?"
"Nah," Harry pushed forward a smooth smirk. "She's got to be college bound. Higher learning and all that."
Hermione retracted her hand from the window and brushed the dust off over her jeans before joining her friends.
