Chapter 2

Kiba’s P.O.V.

By the end of the school day I was more than ready to go home, however as I stepped from the school I caught a flash of blonde spiky hair and grinned to myself. The cute blonde from earlier, how exciting, walking faster I caught up to him and reached my hand out.

“Hey there Naruto” I grabbed onto him just as I spoke, and laughed at the squeal and the little jump he gave out.

“Ah Kiba!!! Hi there! What’s up?” Though his voice was cheery his eyes seemed sad as he spoke, and I wondered what could have happened to make him sad.

“Well I was just wondering why you were standing over here by your lonesome instead of heading home. You don’t really seem like the stay after school type.” I walked around so i was facing him and plopped down on the edge of the sidewalk, patting the ground next to me.

“Ah well I’m not usually.” I watched as he scratched his head, releasing a nervous chuckle before sitting down.

“What’s so different about today then?” I leaned back on my hands and looked over at him.

“Ah well I was supposed to catch a ride home with Sasuke, but Sakura wanted to go to some new art gallery in town, and asked if I wouldn’t mind waiting til my aunt could pick me up.” He sighed at the end and looked at his watch. “Only two more hours to go.”

I winced and gave him a grin. “I can give you a ride. My car is a little messy but once you get passed that it’s not bad. Plus staying at school an extra two hours sounds tortourious.”

He laughed and nodded. “A ride would be great. Let me just run in and let my aunt know.”

I stood and followed him through the front doors of the school. “Your aunt works here?”

He nodded as he opened the office door and held it open for me. Instead of accepting i reached my hand above him and grabbed the door, sweeping my hand in an ‘after you motion’. I stepped in behind him and watched as he walked behind the office counter like it wasn’t a big deal. “Don’t tell me your aunt is the Principle or something.”

He laughed and shook his head. “Nah she’s the nurse.”

I followed behind him again as he pushed open a swinging door and stepped into the nurses office. “Hey old lady you here?!?!”

Not soon after his shout did a pillow come flying out the back room towards him. “Who are you calling old you brat”

Naruto dodged the pillow and when he came back up i noticed a beautiful blue gem attached to a necklace string pop out of his shirt. My gaze was brought from Naruto however as a woman walked out of the room the pillow had flown from. I was shocked to see, that despite Naruto’s words, the woman was quite young and quite attractive. Her long hair was pulled back into a low ponytail that reached mid back, she had light brown eyes that almost appeared gold, and one of the larger racks Kiba had seen in his day.

“You who else?” This came from Naruto, the challenge in his voice was unmistakable, but so was the love and respect that showed in his eyes.

A growel started in her throat, but stopped when she noticed me standing behind her nephew. “Eh I don’t recognize you, are you one of Naruto’s friends?”

Before i could answer she turned back to naruto, a confused look on her face. “Wait weren’t you supposed to go home with Sasuke today? Why are you still here?”

“Eh Sakura wanted to take Sasuke somewhere so I backed out to let them be alone.” Kiba watched as Naruto’s shoulder slumped a little and understanding registered in Tsunade’s eyes. “But kiba here offered me a ride so I figures instead of waiting for you all day I’d just head home now, that way you don’t have to go out of your way either “

She nodded her head and smiled “Well thats good cause I have extra work to do and was planning on staying kind of late anyways. So see ya later Naruto! And thanks Kiba.” When she reached out her hand i took it and found money in it. She leaned in and I felt her hair tickle my face as she whispered in my ear. “Hey Naruto is feeling a little down so take him out for ice cream kay?”

I nodded as she pulled back and looked over to see Naruto glaring at us. “What are you whispering about of there old lady?”

She laughed and patted Narutos head as she walked by “Nothing, nothing, just gave him a little gas money that's all”

“Tsk” Naruto grabbed my hand and pulled us out of the room and back into the main office. “Stupid old lady.”

I felt a laugh bubbling inside as he marched through the office and out of the school, a grumpy look on his face the whole way. When we reached the parking lot he looked at me and raised his brow, but didn’t speak. I grinned and tightened the grip I had on his hand as I lead the way towards my car, one of the few left in the parking lot.

“You know, you are kinda cute when you act all grumpy like that. Especially the way you squint your nose a little.” His hand slipped from mine quickly and I turned to see his hands covering his face.

“Sh-Shut up” I saw a sweet tinge of pink poking out and smiled a little.

He was a blusher, how cute. I chuckled and pulled his hands from his face, leading him to the passenger side I opened the door for him and watched as he slipped in. The pink still tinting his cheeks. Walking around the car I took my seat behind the wheel and pulled out of the parking lot.

“Your aunt wants me to take you out for ice cream.” I heard a tsk and from his side and laughed.

“Not an ice cream fan?” I drove by the ice cream place and watched as he smiled a little.

“It’s not that I don’t like it. It’s just if she’s really trying to cheer me up she should know ramen is the way to go about it.” I smiled at the tone in his voice.

“Ah I see! Then how about I treat you to ramen?” I watched as his face lit up from the corner of my eye.

A smile lit his face and he nodded his head quickly. not ten minutes later i pulled up to the small restaurant he directed me too. It was small and personal looking, with the smell of ramen in the air I watched as the girl behind the counter smiled proudly at us. “Ah NAruto! You came by good! Sasuke and Sakura were in her earlier and I was wondering where you were. Who’s your friend?”

The brunette girl spoke quickly and Naruto just smirked. “Missed me did ya?”

He winked at her and she rolled her eyes. “Yup yup! Whatever you wish to think dear. The usual for you and your friend today.”

Her voice strained over the word friend and I saw her glance my way.

I was going to introduce myself when I saw a smirk slide across Naruto’s face. “SO.. You wanna know his name??? To Bad”

I chuckled a little as he turned and walked to a table. I leaned near her as I passed and chuckled.

“Is he always like this?” SHe nodded and I shook my head.

“Interesting…” I followed to the table where Naruto sat and smiled at him, hoping that finally I’d be able to have some fun in my new school.
