Chapter: 16 Media avoidence and a fated meeting

A week after the harvest festival, the city of Magnolia was returning to normal. Despite a noticeably high dislike for Laxus Natsu was throwing a huge fit at Gramps for kicking him out.

"Why'd you kick him out Gramps!?" Natsu said and so forth. Our main Shapeshifter, Ben Tennyson, in the mean time was extremely irked by the fire breather's ranting.

Ben was sitting at the bar a few feet away from Gramps. Still wiped from the battle a week ago, and to add to his embarrassment. He was named Miss fairy tail when Gwen forced him to participate as Beverly Tennyson.

"As if being ashamed from winning a beautiful pageant was enough" he silently said sulking. He then turned towards his fire breathing friend, "But now I have to listen to Natsu's loud ranting, I'm already physically exhausted enough from fighting Laxus" Ben added.

"But now he's adding to my stress", Gwen then spoke up "well he also said something about him not getting the chance to fight again" she said. Kevin arrived from a nearby table to knock him straight out cold.

Thank the dragon slayer's stars though he was restrained by Rook who was using his prototool's grappling hook function. "Kevin I advise you to cease and desist" the cat alien said.

Erza then told Natsu to stop, inwardly Ben thanked his girlfriend for finally and peacefully putting his friend's noisy ranting to a halt. "Yeah but, why didn't he tell us that Laxus was a dragon slayer" Natsu asked.

Makorov spoke up, "actually, Laxus isn't a true dragon slayer" he said. This had peeked Ben's interest, being he is a dragon slayer as well.

As it had turned out, Laxus was originally a weak sickly boy growing up. So his father had Dragon slayer Lacrima implanted in him.

"Wow I didnt know that existed" Happy said, "Dragon slayer Lacrima?" Ben then walked up to the short old man.

"So there are alternative ways to become a dragon slayer?" He asked the guild master. "Indeed, the lacrima being one example, why do you ask?". Ben had a confused look on his face, "seriously a week ago I turned out to be a dragon slayer, didn't anybody see me put those two in the infirmary?" Ben asked.

"Oh yeah that's right""I nearly forgot""I mean it's so common to see Natsu in the infirmary that I didn't notice he had dragon slayer magic" the guild members present spoke up.

Master said that he would resign his status as head of the guild for his grandson's actions. Freed tried to talk him out of it, and cut a large majority of his hair off as repentance.

Ben... found it hard to look him in the eye considering he was used to his hair being long.

(A/N: between you and me readers he looks like Zoro from one piece with his hair cut short).

Fortunately that worked, and Master Makorov stayed. And the rest of the thunder legion fallowed his example to opening up to the guild. An example was Evergreen being Reedus' Muse.

Bickslow however joined Happy with teasing Lucy. Apparently they think she's going out with Loke because he agreed to be her celestial spirit.

Ben helped Lucy out and scared them with Toepick's face. "Thanks Ben" the blonde said before the teen hero walked over to the Bar.
