Jack's POV

I woke up slowly, my eyelids feeling as heavy as bricks. Where am I? I was lying down on a cold, hard tile floor in a pitch black room. The only light came through a small window in the door. My head was pounding and my stomach felt like hell. I stood up steadily, trying to find any hint as to where I was. Nothing. Once I was up, I headed for the large door in front of me, it seemed as if it was made of steel. I stepped through the door and it led through to a hallway. The corridor walls were painted a disgusting grey colour and the floor was wood. It looked rotten. I looked down at my hands, and only then did I notice the red liquid.
Blood.
I gasped out of fright. It happened again. It happened again! The rancid smell of blood made me throw up. I then realised that there was only one person he could have done this to. Lucy.
I ran down the bright corridor at lightning speed, yelling her name. "Lucy! Lucy!" I shouted. "Lucy, where are you?" I checked every room including a grimy looking bathroom, a strange pure white room with a single bed and a black room containing only a worn couch and an old TV. She wasn't in any. After running up and down the strange building, I was exhausted.
I fell to my knees and broke down crying.
"What have I done?" I murmured shakily. I got up and punched the wall out of anger. "Shit!" I shouted to the wall. I noticed how furious I was, and sighed outwards to try and calm myself. Can't have him coming out now. I noticed that I still had thick blood on my hands, so I went to the bathroom that I saw before. I washed the liquid off my hands and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a monster. The blood was everywhere. On my face, in my hair. Why would he do this? I will have to take a shower to get the blood out of my hair, but the problem is, there wasn't one there. I couldn't go outside with blood in my hair, but luckily I had my flat cap. I put that on and moved my blood stained hair under it. Once I sorted myself out, there wasn't much more for me to do, so I left the building in hope to find my only friend.
As I left the building, I saw bright yellow police tape surrounding the area. What was this place? It was early in the morning and the street looked new to me. I had no idea where I was. The street sign next to me said '2nd street'. The best place for me to look is her apartment, I think. Lucy said that she lived on 5th street, right? I went under the police tape and ran to her apartment building as fast as my legs could carry me. Once I arrived at the building, there were a few people in the lobby, probably going to work. I stopped a man in his tracks. "Excuse me, do you know if a girl called Lucy lives in this building?" I started. "Early twenties, brown hair, green eyes?" I asked politely as I gave a brief description of her.
"Uh, yeah," His voice was deep, and he had a thick New York accent. "apartment 6D, why?"
"She's a friend," I replied "is she in?"
"I don't know." He said quickly, obviously in a hurry to get somewhere.
"Ok, thank you." I left and went to the lift. I pressed the button. There was only one lift, and it was on floor 13. It was taking too long, so I made my way to the stairs. I sped up the stairs to the sixth floor and found her apartment. I knocked on the door. No answer. I tried again. Still no answer. "Lucy?" It was deathly silent. "Lucy, it's Jack, are you in there?" My heart was beating out of my chest, where was she? I tried opening the door, and to my surprise, it wasn't locked. That just increased my fear, she didn't seem like the type of person to leave her door unlocked. I slowly opened the door. The apartment had cream coloured walls and clean white floor. Everything looked neat and pristine. "Lucy? Lucy, are you here?" I moved slowly around the apartment, making sure to go in every room in case she was there. She was nowhere. I was about to leave, when I saw a note on the coffee table.

Hey there, Jack. That Lucy was really fun to play with, it's sad that I couldn't have more time with her. I think she may be my new favourite toy! Anyway, if you want to find your precious lady friend, go down into the basement. She  won't want anything to do with you after what I've done to her. You know, I'm enjoying this little game we're playing, I really am. But just let me win already. Just let me take control. It won't be so bad, I promise. We would have a lot of fun together!

I dropped the note and darted to the stairs. I ran down all the way to the basement, and that's when I saw her. She was tied to a chair by the hands and feet. She had deep cuts all over her arms and legs. Her face was covered in blood and on her cheek was a knife carving of an A. She saw me, and that's when her eyes widened with fear.
"Stay back!" She shrieked.
"Lucy it's ok, it's me, Jack." I stepped forward and tried to reassure her, but if anything my voice made it worse.
"Leave me alone, you freak!" Tears were cascading down her cheeks, and her face was contorted with fear.
"Lucy, please, that wasn't me. Whatever he did to you, it wasn't me." I stepped forward again.
"Just go away! Go away! Go away!" It looked like she was going to faint out of fear, I don't know what to do. I can't step closer to her or she'll freak out, but I can't just leave her! I left the room and closed the door behind me. I leaned against it.
I cried.

This was a very sad chapter, and I'm sorry for that! Also, my friend Sashquach23  has wrote a Percy Jackson fanfiction and it's really cool! Even if you haven't read Percy Jackson, it's a really good story! Anyway, bye!
