Lucy's POV

3 weeks later

Finally, I'm out of the hospital. All of my wounds have healed, but they have left scars. The doctors offered to give me plastic surgery to remove the scared "A" from my cheek, but I declined. I don't want part of my face to be fake. Plus, plastic surgery always scared me. I ran my fingers over the "A" and shivered slightly. But I'm not afraid anymore, I understand Jack more now. I know why he did those things to me, and it's not his fault. I'm walking to where he lives now, 6th street, right? I hope so anyway. I feel like I need to talk to him about what happened, and explain how much I care about him. I want to help him. I was about to turn onto his street when I realised that I don't even know his number. I don't even know if he lives in an apartment or house! Ugh, this is stupid. I was about to turn back, when I saw Lucas, Josh and Nathan walking towards me. Fantastic, this is just what I needed.

"Hey Lucy, where's your little Irishman? Has he finally come to his senses and left you?" Lucas snapped.

"Go to hell." I spat while looking him dead in the eye. I was surprised at my sudden increase in confidence, but ultimately proud of myself. Lucas' cocky expression went away and was replaced with fury.

"What did you say to me, bitch?" He snarled. I immediately regretted what I said. "You'll wish you were never born!" Nathan and Josh both stood back with nervous expressions on their faces. Why would they be scared? They both mouthed a word out to me, but I couldn't make it out. Something beginning with an S? Lucas walked closer to me, hands clenched into fists. I walked backwards attempting to get away from him.

"Oh no, you're not getting away from me again." He ran towards me. I ran in the opposite direction, but my legs were sore from staying in the hospital for 3 weeks. I was panting like crazy. He caught up to me. He grabbed onto my brown hair and pulled it hard. I let out a painful shriek. Lucas pulled me into him, and placed one arm under my neck so my head was tilted upwards and the other around my waist. The arm keeping my head up was making it hard to breath. I scrunched my eyes shut, preparing myself for the worst. I heard him cackle, like a wild animal, but then deathly silence. I slowly opened my right eye to see him staring at something in the distance. He seemed curious. He let me go from his grasp and pushed me onto the hard gravel floor. I doubled over and gasped for breath. "Well, well. We meet again, Jackaboy." Lucas said coldly. I was confused, is Jack here? I looked up from the sidewalk to see Jack standing a few feet away. I smiled to myself.

"Leave Lucy alone. Now." Jack said sternly.
"Or what? Are you gonna run away again like last time?" Lucas laughed. Josh and Nathan were nowhere to be seen. I stood up and tried to run towards Jack, but Lucas grabbed onto my arm and pulled me into the same position as before. Jack stepped forward. "Ah ah, step forward and the girl gets it." He held his fist in front of his face to show his threat. Jack clenched his hands into tight fists, so tight that his fingernails must be digging into his skin. He stared right at Lucas. But then, just like in the hospital, he suddenly grabbed his head and yelled out in pain. Lucas looked at me and back at Jack, puzzled. I knew what was coming. Slowly, Jack lifted his head, laughing very softly under his breath.

Black eyes.

"Woah, man, look I didn't mean to cause any trouble, it was just a joke!" Lucas pleaded. I didn't even blink, but somehow Jack was next to Lucas.

What. The. Hell.

"I don't believe we've met. I'm Anti."
"Wha-" Thats all Lucas managed to say before Anti punched him hard in the stomach, making him double over on the floor. Lucas was coughing intensely. I felt... I felt... I don't know how I felt. What just happened? Does Anti have super speed? Does Anti care about me now?

"I saved you, you're welcome by the way. Yes, simple answer. And no. I will never care about you." Anti looked me in the eye.

Oh my god. He can read minds. Has he always been able to do that? Can Jack do that? I stood still, silent. The only sound coming from my heavy breathing. "Y-you can r-read minds?" My voice was quivering.

"I can do many things, sweetheart." He said as he stepped closer to me. I didn't want to be afraid, but every instinct in my body was telling me to run. Run and don't look back.

"Anti, I..." I trailed off at the end of my sentence. I didn't know what to say. He shushed me, and stepped forward again. He was only a few inches from my face. I didn't know where to look, so I just stared at his cold, black eyes. Anti smiled softly, and placed a gentle hand on my cheek. I smiled. Everything felt so nice, and calm. I slowly closed my eyes in relaxation.

But then the feeling stopped.

Anti pulled me into a head lock, and quietly whispered in my ear,

"Have you already forgot what I said before? I will never care about you. You're just another toy to me." He laughed manically again. No, I know that this isn't Jack, and I promised myself to help him. No matter what. I tried to release myself from his grasp, but I didn't succeed. I had only one option. I bit his hand as hard as I could, and he immediately let me go from his grasp.
"Bitch!" I turned to face him.

"Jack, I know you're in there. Please, you can fight him. I believe in you!" I had to reach Jack, I had to let him know I was there for him. Anti just laughed at me.

"You really think you can stop me? Don't be so pathetic!" He spat. This wasn't getting any where, so I turned and ran in the opposite direction. The last thing I heard him say was, "Hm, I like a girl who I need to chase, makes the game much more interesting!"
