The Soul of a Dragon

Chapter 20.

After YN's speech, the audience went to eating, gossiping, laughing, sharing jokes, and dancing away the night. Its seems, as if the night would dance itself away as every sung and dance it away, anyhow. Hiccup, went on the search for YN. With many, 'Hellos', 'Evening', 'How are you' and the occasional, 'Are you two engaged', that question made the young man blush.

The gang however, were all on the dance floor, dancing away with random vikings and villagers. As dragons made their way towards the fish baskets, set out for them.

This was to be a day and night remembered indeed.

HICCUPS POV

Hiccup, swayed in and out of people, as he looked about for YN. Instead, he ended up bumping into his father, Stoick. Who gave him a hearty pat on the bag with a large grin. ''Looking for the young lass aye?'' He grinned.

Hiccup nodded, with a quirked brow. ''Yeah... have you seen her?'' He chuckled, as his father shrugged and whispered to him. ''Follow ya heart Hiccup, She loves you. We can see that. So can you. Don't lose her, like I did your mother.'' He murmured, and shoved Hiccup in the direction of YN.

Hiccup was shoved into YN, and greeted by a large grin. ''Hey there Haddock,'' She smiled at him. Hiccup grinned, ''Hello, m'lady."

''Enjoying the party so far?" He smiled, as he leant against the bannister, with his arms crossed over his armoured chest. ''It's great. Everyone's so nice, their all giving me hugs, and its just fantastic.'' She smiled. 

''Remember, when we had a cleebration? and you gave me that necklace, and you had one too.. I still have mine.'' YN smiled, as she showed him.

Hiccups heart fluttered, as he showed her his also. It was amazing at how they both had kept those necklaces over 6 years. ''Speaking of that, I have something for you...'' He murmured softly, as he held up a necklace with a little pendant on it.

''It was my Mothers...'' He smiled softly. ''I want you to have it.'' 

YN gasped, as she accepted the gift. ''Can you put it on me please?'' She asked softly, as Hiccup placed the silver against her skin and did it up. She looked at the necklace hugged Hiccup tightly, ''Thankyou.'' YN whispered softly.

Hiccup held her tightly to himself. As he soon parted, jsut in time- 

''HICCUP ITS OUR SONG!"

She yelled out, with excitment.

NO ONES POVE

Hiccup smiled at ehr reaction, as he began to drag her to the middle of the room. YN stopped,  

'' I-I cant dance infront of people.'' Hiccup quirked his brow at her shyness, as he smiled. ''You can. Just follow me.'' He grinned, 

Everyone,  made room for the the two, center of the room... as they danced away. Starting slowly to the melody. YN followed Hiccup, as he knew the dance well, just as she did. 

As they started dancing, it brought back the memory to the both of them of when they were 15 and danced and sang to this song infront of everyone. The pair grinned, just as they had back then.

Hiccup, began to sing the song, as he smiled to her. 

''I'll swim and sail on savage seas. With ne'er a fear of drowning, and gladly ride the waves of life if you will marry me. No scorching sun, nor freezing cold will stop me on my journey,

 If you will promise me your heart... And love...'' 

Hiccup sang out loud, with her, as he stared in YN eyes, and she stared back. It was if it was jsut them in time. 

Yn continued on with the song,

 ''And love me for eternity. My dearest one my darling dear your mighty words astound me but I've no need of mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me.'' 

She grinned, as they both laughed lightly and picked up their movment as they circled and twirled with eachother  closer.

Hiccup laughed and sang out, 

''But I would bring you rings of gold

I'd even sing you poetry 

And I would keep you from all harm

If you would stay beside me!''

YN threw her head back, as her feet carried her away, along with Hiccup. She looked at him with a smirk, as he matched hers.

''I have no use for rings of gold, 

I care not for your poetry.

 I only want your hand to hold,''

As Hiccup held a bright smile and took a breathe,

''I only want you near me!''

Everyone, had cleared the floor by now, and stood, admiring, The young chief and the young girl. The two bestfriends. Even Rian and Toothless nuzzled one and other. They danced, laughed and moved about in sync. They were perfect together. If only that would notice that yet.

The two belted out the ending of the song, with grins, laughs and cheers all about. They danced faster and faster together.

''To love to kiss to sweetly hold. For the dancing and the dreaming, through all life's sorrows and delights I'll keep your love inside me. I'll swim and sail on savage seas with ne'er a fear of drowning and gladly ride the waves of life if you will marry me!''

  Claps, Applauses, cheers and whistles were about. As their chests heaved, they stared at one and other. 

This was to the adventure, that would go unforgotten. 

They knew that much.
