I think it’s a good idea to stop running now.

I collapsed to a new and nastier feel of cement. Dizziness and thirst immediately caught my throat and it felt tighter than the black jeggings on my thighs. I wouldn' t be surprised if my heart jumped out of my chest and onto the gum and cigarette stained cement.

After stabilizing my thoughts, my brain finally decided to work and take a look of where I was. It looked familiar in a spooky way. I must still be in Brooklyn, but not anywhere around my neighbourhood.

Shit, the time. My hands dug all over my hips and waist to find my phone. Crap, it was in my bag and it broke off ages ago. Shit. The tips of my hair swirled around back and forth to look for a clock anywhere. Nothing except spooky street lamps and graffiti stained shops.

Picking myself from the ground, I pulled my hood up started my walking. You need to have your hood up to survive in Brooklyn. Head down and staring 2 feet in front of the ground so you look chill. Hands in pockets or crossed so they don’t look weak and flingy. Walking paced and constant. Any movement of speeding up will make you looked scared and weak.

While doing this, a mental breakdown began to occur in my head. Why am I such an idiot. One cannot just run off somewhere without knowing where they are. I have to be kidding myself. This just does not make any sense. I decided to walk backwards to where I thought I must have been running to trace my steps. After a couple blocks, nothing still looked familiar. I stopped and bent down to fix my shoes, trying to remember anything familiar. Where was I? How long was I running for that I forgot where I was going? I remembered a bunch or twists and turns but it really was impossible to trace my steps back again. Resuming my walk, I began to look for a clock. I soon found myself to an old shop clock. It was nearly 12am. It wasn’t that late. Where was everyone?

As I continued my walk, I heard shuffling behind me. Arrogantly, I turned slightly to see a man. Finally, another human being. I knew that I couldn’t be the only one here. There were two men walking on the other sidewalk as well. Yes, people, gather around me. Don’t let me stand out in this creepy neighbourhood. The silence was broken by the man behind me, who was snickering ever so loudly and noticeably. That creepy pervert. No matter how much my nerves wanted to sprint away again, I couldn’t look like fresh bait. Besides, I did not have the energy anymore to sprint. All of my cross-country energy and skills left during that however long sprint for my life.  I shrugged it off and dug further in my pockets and tightened my biceps on my arms. As I was about to finish a block, another man came and cut right in front of me. Ok, now that is just rude. You don’t cut in front of people that obviously. Why was everyone acting so weird? Can the world just not be so cliché?

The man in front of me abruptly stopped, making me nearly crash into him. The man behind me stopped abruptly as well. As soon as I was about to move aside and continue walking, the man in front of me turned around. It was Jason. A smile immediately began to form on my face. “hey! I was just thinking about you-“ Before I got to finish, he came right up to me and gave me a ferocious bear hug. Wow, missed me that much huh. Such a cutie. His hands dwindled to mine and placed them behind my back.

He bent his neck to my ear and whispered “I got you Taylor.” As soon as I was about to flatter him, his hands suddenly tightened their grip on my hands, which were behind my back. The man behind me immediately started tying them with a thick hard string. “What the fuck! Get off of me, what the hell!” Loads of curses came out of my mouth, but it was soon enough that I was stopped by a load of duct tape on my mouth. Of course I knew the trick to this. It tasted like shit, but I licked the tape so that it would turn lose and not sticky. But it began to pile more and more, all over my chin and close to my nose. I struggled and struggled to get my own power back, but the two men’s grip were tight. My eyes were glued to his, trying to burn them out of his head like I had seen in all those stupid star wars movies and tacky 1900’s movies. I glared at him until my eyes hurt and I closed my eyes tight to regain sight.

As I inhaled, a funky gas came up my nose. It smelled terrible to the point where I actually felt dizzy.  When I opened my eyes again, things went really bad. I saw slow motion moving of men in front of me, and a dark green van pulling up along the side of the road. Shit I knew what was going to happen. It’s always like this in the movies. I’m being kidnapped or whatever you call getting taken somewhere where you probably don’t know without your permission or consent. I blinked heavily again, this time losing my focus.

My head collapsed and everything went black.
