Where Would We Be Without Our Secrets ?

Peter was taking forever to wake up and I didn't want to think why he was that tired. I mean he can fool around with anyone he likes ... just not Miranda. Like Destiny, I still think something is off with that girl but I don't think she's simply a gold digger. I do believe her story about the crash accident but why is she staying in Hemlock Grove is something else.

I was still waiting when Roman texted me to pass by his house, I figured he needed someone to talk to and as Peter was still sleeping, I got up and went to the his house.

When I got there, Roman was looking weak, a habit these days. I sat down next to him on the couch and asked him what was going on when someone banged on the door, yelling Miranda's name. Roman got up and was walking to the door when Peter bursted in.

"Where the fuck is she ? Where is Miranda ?" he started yelling looking for her.
"Peter what are you doing ?" I asked him.
"What are YOU doing here? So is that what's happening ? You spend your days with me and you spend your nights here, telling him every little secret as a pillow talk ?!" He said screaming and walking dangerously close to me. That's when Roman seemed to snap out of his trance and launched at Peter. The pair started fighting and there was nothing I could do about. I mean I didn't like seeing them fight but no matter how hard I tried to scream and stop them they didn't notice me and punched ever harder. Maybe they needed to do that. They needed to fight to break off all that anger and frustration that seemed to have build up between the two.

"Why are you even fighting ?!" I yelled and this time they seemed to hear me.
"What's wrong with you ?" asked Roman, bleeding from his lip and trying to stand up.
"I have no idea." responded Peter on the ground, touching his ribs.

We all looked at each other, not knowing what to do or say when the front door opened once again. Miranda showed up with a baby in her arms and was surprised to see all of us here.

"You never said you had a baby." Peter told her. The baby did not look like her one bit.
"It's not my baby." She said looking at Roman. Peter kept his graze on the baby and didn't notice how uncomfortable Roman was. I looked him in the eyes and he finally spoke up.

"It's Letha's" I really did not expect that. At the tower they told us the baby died with the mother during labour. Probably one of the main reason Pete left town in the first place.

"When were you gonna tell me ? What's her name ?" He asked. Roman didn't seem to know what to do and Peter asked a second time the name of the child.

"Nadia" said Miranda. "Her name's Nadia. It's means Hope." She handed the baby to Peter and I can say that I never seen him that happy. He was smiling and small tears of joy formed in his eyes. He kissed her on her little forehead and whispered "You're perfect. I loved your mother you know."

I really didn't know what to say and all I could do was looking at Roman. He didn't want to look me in the eyes and I didn't understand why. I mean of course he lied to us, saying that the baby had died but he didn't do anything else ... right ?

Miranda seemed to sense the tension and said that Nadia was tired and needed to be changed. Peter handed her back to Miranda, kissing her one more time and promising her he would see her again very soon. We all watched Miranda walking up the stairs before looking at Roman for answers.

"I wanted to tell you, but you split" he said looking at Peter, "and you, you had me out of your life. I didn't know what to do. I needed you, both of you. And you left me. I was completely fucking lost. I am completely fucking lost." His voice was full of rage but was broken at the same time. "Then Miranda fell out of the sky and it was like ... I don't know how to explain it."

"I don't understand. Were you planning on hiding this baby forever ?" asked Peter.
"Do you keep her in some secret place ?" I said trying to ease up the tension. Roman didn't say anything." You're not, right ?"

"I didn't have a plan !" so you keep a baby in a secret room. Fantastic. "I still don't have a plan. There's still so much you guys don't know."

"It's ok. It's time." Peter said taking Roman in a side hug and opening his arm for me to join. "Where would we be without our secrets ?"
