Author's Note: So I guess the chapter titles are pretty cryptic if you don't translate them, and why would you? That's unnecessary work. At some point I will reveal what all the titles mean, but as far as this chapter, I'm pretty sure it's a bit obvious. I hope everyone is doing well, I'm back at NYU, so I'm supremely busy, but I'm doing my best to keep up the updates! Also, the 31st is the last day of voting for the Watty Awards, so if you have yet to vote for RecompenseHOP TO IT! Now, onto the chapter. Get ready for further descent into chaos, darkness and a little bit more chaos.

Chapter Ten - Prinsessa, or Princess

“I am going to fucking kill him, I swear to Odin!” I wheel around, fuming. Odin stares back at me. “Yes, you! I swear to you Allfather, I will see to it that your asshole of a son dies at my hands!”

Odin watches me uneasily as I rant my way past him and back down the Rainbow Bridge. I could be mistaken but I swear Odin is chuckling behind me. I clench and unclench my fists, my fingernails digging ferociously into my skin. I am an idiot after all.

Never try and fool the God of Lies.

I look down at my left hand, the golden band brazen against my pale skin. I blink, coming to full realization that I just married that asshole. Knowingly. Willingly. Well, he’s my asshole now and forever. It is oddly unfulfilling, however, to have your husband literally disappear seconds after your makeshift wedding. This is why I insisted on a full wedding. Then he could not have so easily popped off to a different planet. And now I have to wait. Hopefully not for long, but regardless, I must wait for our wedding night.

I kick at the dirt and then pull my cloak back as I jog up the stairs. I walk around the outside of the palace, bringing myself around to one of the balconies overlooking the Sea of Mist. I sigh, closing my eyes and I listen to the rush of the water, faintly feeling the sea breeze against my skin. The falls are faint, as they fall off into the void of space, a place I would rather not end up, that’s for sure.

“I suppose I will be needing to find a new hiding spot, then?” A male voice laughs from behind me.

I turn, opening my eyes to see Frey, accompanied by one of his men. “We can share?”

“What’s wrong, my lady?” Frey asks, taking a step forward.

I wave him off, shaking my head. “Ah, nothing. I was duped yet again.”

“By Loki?” he asks, clarifying. I nod and then raise my hand for him to see.

“Apparently marriage is the means to distract me so he could go off with the others,” I sigh. Frey and his companion drop to their knees, fists clapped over their hearts.

“Princess,” Frey says, gaze directed at the ground.

I sigh, “Get up, idiots.” I look to Frey’s companion, the very same brute who I believe carried me upside down from the Forest of Sigurd into the Asgardian mountains. "By the way, what's your name?"

He seems surprised, he straightens his tall, heavy, bearded frame and says with a smile, "My name is - "

"Valkyrie!"

"Fuck me," I groan as Amora comes slinking down the path. Frey looks at me, surprised by my foul mouthed exclamation until his gaze follows mine to Amora. Today's choice outfit features major side boob.

The men bow their heads, "My lady."

"Don't...do not 'my lady' her. No," I shove Frey's shoulder. He looks at me, mouth slightly agape, but of course does nothing. I take my hand from his shoulder, flexing my fingers awkwardly, not sure what to do with my hand until I drop it back down to my side. A tremor flickers through my fingers as I stare down Amora and murderous thoughts run amuck in my mind. Okay, settle down. She hasn’t done enough to deserve this amount of hatred from me...yet.
