I walk towards the teacher with eyes staring at me. "class this is Max, he's new to town and I would like a volunteer to show him around please" Mrs. Grands said, I looked around the class but no one offered but in the corner of my eye one hand shot up and I was surprised
"Mrs. Grands I would like to volunteer" the girl said with a half-smile, she looked tall and seemed nice to hang with "thank you Kyla, Max" she turn towards me and gestured the girl to come up to her, half the class snickered her friends I think sat with her and were talking between themselves as if nothing happened glad to think that some of them don't see me I thought.
"please take a seat Max next to Kyla" She said in a sweet voice. I felt eyes on the back of my head but ignored everyone looking at me,I sat next to the girl that Mrs. grands told me was going to show me around as i sat i heard her friends whispering and giggling i ignored them and payed attention to our teacher but soon after i zoned out until i felt someone tap me. It was kyla telling me that it was time to get to our next class.
"Oh yeah, right. Thanks." I gave her a half smile and got up out of my chair and started walking out of the class room when I got to the hallway, I sighed in relief. I started walking down the hallway but I stopped when I heard a voice call out my name and footsteps behind me .I turned around to see who it was and it was Kyla
"Hey, where are you going our next class is that way." she gave me a smile and took my arm and pulled me along to our next class
"It's not a coincident that I have the same timeline as her." I thought I felt her grip loosen on my arm.
"Sorry if I pulled you to hard" she said apologetically.
"No, it's fine um...thanks for showing me where my next class is." I said looking down at my feet.
"You mean our class. It looks like we're going to be buddies for a while, since we're in the same classes." She sounded upset but when I looked up her face brightened up. She found out that one of her friends where in the say class as us.
"She must not be happy that she has to look after a noob." I thought sadly
"Max, this is Kate she's my best friend." she said with a smile but one look at my face and the smile was wiped clean.
"H-hey max you okay?" she asked me a little upset.
"No! I'm not okay! What do you think?" I wanted to snap at her but instead I ran off heading straight for the boys toilets
"Breathe Max, You're okay, you're fine, Just breath and take It slow. You won't be the new kid for long..." my thoughts were interrupted when I heard someone come in and calling my name. It was Kyla again sounding concerned
"What are you doing in here?" my voice rasped .she winced at the sound of my voice and I dropped my head and muttered sorry to her.
"I came to see if you were okay." she said soothingly
"I'm fine." it sounded a little bitter to me, the way I said it to her. I saw her flinch and that was where I just collapsed to the ground, she caught me and laid me on the floor. The last thing I felt was the cold, hard and Kyla's' soft hands on my back holding me up on the floor, I heard her saying ' everything's okay Max you're going to be okay' and then my whole body just shut down.
~Maxs' Dream~
"Wake up son" I hear my dad voice say, dadbut it..it can't be he died in a car crash I thought to myself "wake up son" I hear hisvoice again and find myself face to face with my dead father "D-dad, h-howc-can, how are you" He put a finger to my lips signaling me to be quiet " Son,you have to wake up but something is going to change, just know you're alwaysgoing to have me near u" and with that he kissed my forehead and I felt himdisappear.
Kyla P.O.V
"Kyla, are you okay" The school nurse asked as I sit in sick bay waiting forMax to wake up after he fainted .
"Huh? Oh yea Miss Craig, I'm fine thank you" I smiled but as she walked away Ilook worryingly at Max,
"C'mon Max wake up please" I hear him groan as he glumly woke up and looked upat me, I smiled at him and said
"Well guess our new guy isn't so new anymore" I giggled at him looking at hiswhich was all fluffed up
"huh? What do you mean, what happened?" He asked confusingly
"well you kind of fainted in the boys bathroom" I said playing with my hand onmy lap
"What were you doing in the guy's bathroom?" he asked concerned
"well I just walked in cause you kind of ran off on me" I say sounding a littleupset and worried.
As he was about to say something the nurse showed up, "well our little faintersawake, how you feeling Hon," Miss Craig asked, max looked a little confused,"hey max what do you remember" I asked breaking the silence
"Well, I remember running of to the bathroom, then you came in and that's aboutsums it up" I heard Miss Craig giggled a little and looked at her and smilethen laughed as well.
"Wh-what? D-did you-"
"what? Oh no you just collapse and that's it" I said reassuring him I didn't see anything
"what were you doing in the boys bathroom?" He questioned
"Like I said I came looking for you" I gave him a quick smile, "well since yourup I can go to class, Miss Craig he's all yours' " as I turned to walk out ofsick bay Maxs got up as well but almost fell back down,
"I want to go to class as well I'm okay I'll be fine" He said I turned aroundand smile at him, I looked at Miss Craig and all she gave was a nod and Max wason his feet.
" whoa go easy okay you might faint ifyou get up to quickly Max"
" It's all good, Let's go" he grabs his stuff and says thank you to Miss Craigwe walk to our next class in silence when we get there everyone is talking. Isee Kate sitting with Camron and James, "c'mon max" I grab his arm and pull himtoward them.
"hey Kate" I say cheerfully she seem relived to see me.
"Kyla, finally you're back" She said happily.
"James, Cam this is Max he's the new member of the squad" I saw them snickerand gave them a glare, they stop immediately and mocked me with a 'yes ma'am'and shook Maxs' hand.
We walked to go to our seats "what was that all about" Max asked confused
"what was what"
"they started to laugh at your suggestion of me joining your little squad thingbut stop as soon as you glared at them" He said without a breath in between. Ilaugh.
"oh that, pfft, you see I'm kind of likethe leader of the group and those boys used to bully Kate but now we're allgood friends we look after each other" I give him a smile while Cam, James andKate come over to the table and sit with us.
