K FOR STRANGERS.

Lauren really didn't like meeting new people, and the uneasy feeling of meeting Camila for the first time was nothing compared to meeting Camila's parents, but they had welcomed Lauren into their home with all the love and care that Lauren's own family had given to the younger Latina.

She was practically part of the family now, anytime she came over she was greeted by the whole bunch.

"Mom, can you keep Lauren company while I go pack my bag?" Camila asked, slowly walking toward the stairs.

"Where are you going?" Her mother asked.

"The girls and I were going to the water park, I came to see if Camila would like to come with us." Lauren answered politely.

"I will keep her company. Take dry clothes for after, Mija." Her mom smiled.

"Thanks, Ma." Camila smiled before racing up the stairs.

"You make her very happy."

"She makes me happier." Lauren grinned.

"I can see." She smiled. "We were so happy when Karla told us she found her soul mate. We were even happier when it was you."

"Karla?" Lauren's face paled.

"Her first name, yes. She goes by her middle name." Camila's mom answered.

"H-How.. How do you spell that?" Lauren gulped.

"With a K of course. She doesn't like it as much as she loves Camila." She shrugged.

"Please excuse me." Lauren said quietly, making her way to the steps.

She stormed down the hallway and into the second door on her left before slamming it shut.

Lauren didn't like liars.

"Karla?" She said incredulously.

Camila looked up and her eyes widened.

"Lo-"

"Karla, spelled with a K? Camz, how long have you known?" She demanded.

"Longer than you.." The younger girl mumbled.

"No shit." Lauren scoffed. "For once, tell me the truth, Camila. How long have you known?"

"Since the day after we met.."

Lauren shook her head and reached for the doorknob.

"No!" Camila yelled, wrapping her arms around Lauren's waist. "Lauren, please, I'm sorry!"

"Sorry?!" She yelled. "Camila, sorry is forgetting to text me back! You lied for eight months about my fucking initial on your wrist!"

Lauren grabbed Camila's arm and turned her hand over taking a good look at the L that was in her sloppy, chicken-scratch handwriting.

"Lauren, please?" She sobbed, trying to keep her grip on the older girl. "I love you!"

"You don't lie to people you love, Karla." She spat. "You don't let them spend all their time worrying about you being taken away from them, or getting harassed by stupid jocks because they love someone who they're supposed to love."

"Lauren-"

"No! You don't just come into their life, and turn their whole world upside down, and make them throw away the only thing they believe in, and then lie to them! Not if you love them!" Lauren argued.

"Lauren, don't you think-"

"I don't know what to think." She said coldly, stepping out of Camila's hold and opening the door. "How do you expect me to love you when I barely know who you are?"

"Lauren.. I'm sorry." She whispered.

"Don't be." She shook her head. "It's not gonna fix it.."

"Lauren, I love you."

"Bye, Karla.." Lauren said, walking out of the bedroom, and down the stairs to leave, she didn't say anything to anyone else, and walked out of the house.

"Come in." Lauren called to the sound of someone knocking on her bedroom door.

"Hey.." A soft, familiar voice greeted her.

"I'm sorry, am I supposed to know you?" She asked through gritted teeth.

"Lauren, I love you.. It's been two weeks I can't breath without you, please.." The younger girl begged.

"I don't even know you!" She yelled. "You've lied to me for months how do I know when you're not lying?"

Camila sighed and sat down on the bed next to Lauren.

"I wasn't lying when this happened.." She motioned toward the bed. "When we were right here and I was absolutely safe with you under these covers, Laur, it wasn't anything but real."

Lauren shrugged.

"I wasn't lying when I said all those things about soul mates. I wasn't. I said yours would love you even though you kissed somebody that wasn't them.. That they would love your stupid, perfect handwriting.. When I told you that your soul mate likes to cuddle." She sighed.

"Little stuff.." The older girl huffed.

"Lauren, I love you, I couldn't have lied about that.."

"Why didn't just you tell me?"

"Because I wanted to love you first.. I didn't want to just be the initial on your wrist." Camila said honestly.

"So why didn't you tell me? I already loved you. I loved you from the first day and you know that, so why didn't you tell me?" Lauren demanded.

"I don't know!" She answered.

"What do you know, Karla?"

"I know that I'm so in love with you that it hurts, Lauren." The younger girl explained. "I know that I'd give up pizza for the way that you kiss me. I know your heartbeat is the best song I've ever heard. I know that no pillow in the world can compare to my head on your chest. I know that I don't ever want to live without you, not for two weeks, or two days, or two more minutes. I know that, Lauren."

She shifted closer to her soul mate.

"I know that your eyes are my favorite color.. I know that." She said before straddling the older girl's hips and lowering her voice. "I know that when you touch me I never want you to stop and for the past two months you've been trying to save me or whatever but I dream about you all over me. I know that one of the hardest parts of my day is not ripping your clothes off everytime we're alone, because you're perfect. I know you're all I've ever wanted and all I want forever. I know that someday I want to grow old with you in our castle together, Lo. I know all of that. I know that I love you, and I know that you're mad that I didn't tell you, but I know that you're my soul mate, Laur. I was born to love you and I have since I was five years old, okay? I know that."

Lauren rubbed her eyes with her sleeve.

"Baby, don't cry.." Camila whispered, placing a soft kiss next to Lauren's ear.

"Camz-"

"I love you, Lauren."

"I know, I love you too. Forever and ever, I promise." Lauren smiled with puffy eyes

"Good." The younger Latina smiled back. "Because I've had a lot of fantasies about my soul mate and if we're going to scratch even half of them off the list before we're seventy, we're going to have to start as soon as possible."

"Is that right?" She laughed.

"Absolutely." Camila nodded. "You could start by kissing me, you know?"

Without arguing, Lauren leaned forward and pressed her lips against her soul mate's, smiling into the kiss and holding the smaller girl against her, refusing to let go anytime soon.
