"Honey, wake up. Honey?" I wake up.
"Where am I?" I ask.
"At the light. A truck hit your Car and sped off." The woman is blonde and in her thirties. A boy my age I've never seen before is beside her. He is cute.
"My mom!" I see mom's head on the steering wheel.
"Honey, I couldn't wake her up. The ambulance is on it's way. It will be okay."
"Who are you?"
"Jessica. Jessica Hayes. And this is my son. We were in the car behind you. May I ask your name?"
"Kriss."
"Well Kriss, is there anyone you'd ike to call." I push myself up but fail and end up shouting "ow". My arm and shoulder hurt. When I sat up I went dizzy.
"I wouldn't try moving honey. Hold on I'll get my phone." Jessica walks away. I start to cry. The boy just stares at me.
"Are you okay?" he asks nervously. I glare at him.
"What do you think?"
"Sorry."
"Whatever." Jessica comes back. She hands me the phone. I dial the number.
"Hello. Who is this?"
"Luke!" The boy looks away sadly. I don't think about what it means. I need my brother.
"Kriss? Where are you? The school called saying you never showed up. Who's phone are you calling from?"
"We got in to an accident. We can't wake Mom up. The truck hit her side."
"Kriss are you serious?!" I start to cry.
"Yes. At least the car behind us stopped to call 911."
"Kriss," he sighs, "what about the truck that hit you? Are you hurt?"
"It sped off. Don't worry. I need you, just come. We are at Woodbury-Glassboro Road and Lily Drive. Hurry!"
"Okay. Let me wake Dad and then-"
"NO! Don't wake him! He'll be SO mad."
"Kriss. I understand. But this isn't something you can just hide!"
"You don't know what he'll do to me. He'll.....he''ll........"
"Kriss, I know. I won't let him. I'm bringing him. Love you. Bye."
"Love you."
