NEWT'S CASE
OUTSIDE

Amazing. If Atlas was only given one word to describe Newt's case, it would be amazing. Atlas' eyes flicker over to where Newt stands, in a part that could only be described as a desert. A Thunderbird stands next to him in all his glory. His wings shimmered with cloud-like patterns and Atlas' eyes are directed to one of his legs, rubbed raw and bloody. The creature flaps his wings and the sky fills with torrential downpour, thunder, and lightening. Atlas follows Newt to meet the creature, they both cast a magical umbrella to shield themselves from the weather.

"Come on. Come down," Newt coaxes the large creature down to the ground. "Down you come, come on." The Thunderbird calms down and lowers himself onto a large rock in front of the pair. When the air clears and sun shines through the clouds, Newt pockets his wand and Atlas follows. Newt pulls out some grubs and spills some onto Atlas' hands, she offers them to the large creature that looked at them before accepting her gift. Newt strokes his feathers and the action calms the creature.

"Oh, thank Paracelsus. If you'd have got out that could have been quite catastrophic," Newt speaks to himself. He shifts slightly before speaking louder to address both the people in the case, "You see, he's the real reason I came to America. To bring Frank home." Jacob steps forward slowly and Frank rears, agitated. Atlas brings her hand up to his feathers and he calms slightly. "No, sorry - stay there - he's a wee bit sensitive to strangers," Newt tells to Jacob. "Here you are, here you are," he says to Frank, calming him down. "He was trafficked, you see. I found him in Egypt, he was all chained up. Couldn't leave him there, had to bring him back. I'm going to put you back where you belong, aren't I, Frank. To the wilds of Arizona."

Newt's face fills with hope and expectation and he hugs Frank's head, "I have no idea why he seems taken with Atlas, though." "I know Frank, Newt. He saved me when I was younger," Atlas spoke up. "But I was much younger, maybe six or seven, running around Arizona. I called him Percy, however. I remember going to visit him when I had turned 16 and he wasn't there." She turns to stroke him, "I can't believe you remember me and all this time I had just thought you had left." He nuzzles closer to Atlas before pulling back to take flight. Atlas watches him fly with a similar look to Newt's, full of love and pride.

Newt turns toward another section and roars, beast-like. Newt grabs the bucket of meat and Jacob stumbles after him, swatting at several Doxys that buzz around his head. Atlas follows the pair, stopping to pay attention to creatures that approach her. Newt looks at Atlas interacting with his creatures, eyes full of adoration. He hadn't known him well at school, but he knew that she was always kind to everyone and could trust her with the creatures in his case.

Atlas walks to them as they happily interact with the Graphorns, mainly focused on watching them eat and play with each other. "They're the last breeding pair in existence. If I hadn't managed to rescue them, that could have been the end of Graphorns forever," Newt informs and Atlas finds herself focusing on his words.

He throws a piece of meat to the creatures. "So what you - you rescue these creatures?" Jacob asks, seemingly dumbfounded. "Yes, that's right," came Newt's response. "Rescue, nurture, and protect them, and I'm gently trying to educate my fellow wizards about them."

"You're doing a very good job at that, Newt," Atlas informs him as a Fwooper comes to rest on her shoulder. She offers a finger and it nips at it, "You're pretty cute, aren't you." Newt stares at Atlas like she was the most precious thing on Earth, another wizard that could show this much compassion towards his creatures was rare.

He turns to climb up a small ramp of stairs, "Come on."
