A/N Holy scheisse. Looking back on this chapter, I realized how terrible it is. If you are going to read this chapter, you better get some Basilisk venom, because bleach isn't strong enough.

Hermione was in the Hogwarts library, as usual. She was scanning the shelves of book for an interesting read. She had already read almost every book in the library at least once, but she couldn't get enough of it.

She finally decided on Quidditch Through the Ages by Kennilworthy Whisp, even though she could practically recite the entire book by memory, even the dates on which other students borrowed it. She went to the W section where the book resided, but she was disappointed to see that it was gone. She turned around to search for something else to read, when she bumped into Fred Weasley, Hogwarts' biggest prankster. She blushed. She had had a crush on Fred since her first year, even though his crazy antics drove her completely nutters sometimes.

"S-sorry..." Hermione stuttered.

"Ah, it's fine," Fred replied. He then handed her Quidditch Through the Ages. Hermione looked a bit surprised.

"H-how did you know?"

"I just... Well I just knew. I kinda had a feeling."

At that moment, they made accidental eye contact, but they didn't look away. Hermione felt a sudden rush of excitement. She hadn't had many conversations with Fred before, much less any eye contact. That just gazed into each other's eyes. Hermione could not look away from Fred's intriguing hazel eyes.

"By the way," Hermione said, breaking the awkward silence. "I didn't know you read."

"Well, what else am I supposed to do if I'm not plotting against Umbridge or working with George to develop my crazy inventions?"

There was another pause, longer this time. At this point, Hermione had ceded control over her emotions, as she was having trouble getting a grip on them in the first place.

"You know," Fred began."I-I've been in love with you since the moment you first sat down at the Gryffindor table, during the Sorting Ceremony. I couldn't take my eyes off of you, and I still love you."

Hermione threw her arms around him. They looked each other in the eye once more before they gently pressed their lips together. The kiss was passionate, and the love Fred and Hermione had for each other was as true as true love could be.
