>>>3 Years Later<<<
.:Bailey:.
"Bailey? Bailey sweetheart, when are you coming to bed?"
Turning my head slightly, I gaze over Stephanie with a small smile, "Soon." I murmur.
My fiancee. Stephanie, a newborn I picked up on my way back here to Italy last year. She's sweet, kind...she's tall, about 5'10, long legs, olive skin, brown eyes and dark hair. She's beautiful...but she's not...
My fists clench at the thought of her.
I still can't believe she left with HIM. The mere thought of HER makes me sick.
"Alright darling." She whispers and she kisses my lips lightly and leaves me alone yet again.
Clutching my pen between my fingers, I take a deep breath before continuing on with my work.
After she left, I concentrated on the army and dethroning Isaac. All I did was plan. I spent ever hour, every minute, every damned second of every day thinking and planning out our actions and when it was time to put them into use...a perfect execution. Both in accomplishment and...murder.
Lyle my older brother and his wife Tessa moved to Australia to be close to her parents. It turns out he wasn't as gay as he'd assumed...he just hadn't found his Harmony. But anyway. In his moving, he declined the throne, leaving it to me.
"Your Majesty?"
"Yes Matthew?" I enquire.
He flops down in the chair opposite my own, "God I hate that. Calling you Majesty is just something I won't ever get used to." He chuckles.
I permit myself to laugh, "Then don't. I'm still only Bailey to you."
Shaking his head, I leans on my desk, "No you're not. You're the King of the Underworld. That's not really a title I can simply ignore."
Shrugging, I lean back in my chair, stretching out my limbs. What? Vampires get stiff as well...
"So what is your Majesty working on at such an unhealthy hour might I ask?"
Grinning, I smack my hand down on the mess of papers, "Just stuff really. Some of my guards discovered some vampires have been importing African slaves via underground tunnel systems that I thought my father had filled in. Someone else has been importing illegal Onyx weapons. The nasty ones that, you think if they hit you that's it, but then it slips over and gets you again?"
Matt just stares at me, his eyes slightly squinted and his jaw slack, "Cool."
"You didn't really understand any of that did you?" I enquire.
He shakes his head, "No. Mind if I watch some television?"
Shaking my own head, I motion over to it, "Nah go ahead."
Returning to my work, I hear the sudden...gain of background noise.
He's watching the news.
I do not blame Matt in any way for his sister's actions and count him as my closest friend in fact. That is why he is still here. I guess...strangely enough, he is my imperial advisor. He's human and there has never been a human advisor before ever, but I think he's probably the best we've ever had...no. That was sarcasm, he's probably the worst, but he's the most amusing.
"Oh wow. That's number twenty three."
Glancing up at his sudden burst of speech, I raise an eyebrow, "What's twenty three?"
